Happy Monday & Some Finished Projects

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!! The sun is shining and the temps aren't too bad~mid 50's. Later this week it's supposed to be in the 70's. Yippee!! I have to work tonight and tomorrow and then I'm done for the rest of the week. It's a short week for me this week & I am so looking forward to it. I have some clean up to do in the yard and I will surely be hanging some sheets out on the clothesline. Don't you just love the smell of line dried clothing?

Today was sewing day with the girls. I love getting together with everyone and working on quilts each week , but today my heart wasn't really in it. I think I have a touch of the "Spring Fever". I did go and had fun, but left a little earlier than usual. I'm currently working on a pink & brown 9 patch wall hanging. It's going together super fast & I should have stayed & finished the blocks, but knowing that I have to work tonight is bumming me out. Oh well~it's a paycheck.

Thought I would share some of the goodies I've finished this week. All of these projects were already in the works~I just needed to finish them. First up is this Fall cat, crow, & pumpkin penny rug. I've made one of these for about the past 5 years & it's usually one of the first things that sells in my craft booth.

Next up is this little basket quilt. I finished the top about 3 years ago & was going to frame it, but never got around to framing it so I sat down one day & quilted it. It only took about 20 minutes to do the quilting & I love how it turned out.

The 2 little 16 patch on point quilts were made from a kit I bought awhile ago. The kit was supposed to make one quilt, but I got 2 out of the kit. I'm going to keep one & sell the other.

Remember this quilt top I showed you a couple of weeks ago? It went from this...

To this...

To the finished table topper.  I just love making these. This is the 4th one I've made.

Well I better head off to work now!! Hope you enjoyed looking at my finished projects.

Are you ready for the winners?? Here goes....

Happy Sunday everyone!! I'd like to thank all you ladies that entered by very first blog giveaway. I had to work today, and didn't get a chance to draw names until just now (I left for work before my helpers got out of bed). They decided they were shy and neither wanted to be in the picture, so I just got a pic of the hands.

The first name to come out of the bowl was Gayle. #2 was Donna of Counter Crafts and last but not least #3 was Pat C of All is Bright. Congrats Ladies!! Please email your addy to primitivesnstitchin@hotmail.com and I will get your goodies out to you.

I have to go back to work tonight for a mandatory meeting but I'll be back tomorrow with pictures of some of the things I've been finishing up. I have so many kits & unfinished projects. My New Year's resolution was to not buy anything new & only work on older projects, but everytime I go to a quilt shop I find something new I just have to have.  LOL  I bet you couldn't guess that I would say that. I have been good about finishing some of my older things though. I suppose I should just stay OUT of those shops. I know~it will never happen.

Until tomorrow~Becky

My first cross stitch in over ten years....

I have another new addiction~cross stitch. I haven't done this in over 10 years, but decided to try again after seeing all of the wonderful things others were making.

I stitched this picture up using a freebie design by Betty of Primitive Bettys . She has a wonderful blog and her patterns are so wonderfully prim. My picture is stitched on tea dyed 18 count aida cloth with brown valdani thread. The frame is painted a nice old brown with a gold basecoat.

I love how this picture turned out. I am definately going to be stitching up more of her freebie patterns. Now I just need to get a magnifying glass so that I can stitch on some smaller sized fabric. I'm wanting to make some pin keeps for gifts for the girls in my quilting group.

I am so looking forward to tomorrow. I have the day off & I need to get going on some of my unfinished projects.

Have a wonderful evening and don't forget that the deadline to enter my giveaway is this Saturday the 27th.

Short work day and Eagle table topper

Well, today is day three of my 9 days of work in a row and I'm happy to say it is a short day. I'm only working 5 hours today. Yeah!! I have a little time before I head off to work, so I decided to work on my Eagle table topper. This is how it looked on Monday.

And this is how it looks today. I traced, ironed on, and cut out all the applique pieces last night and ironed them on today. I do my quilts the easy way. Instead of doing my appliques by hand, I use wonder under and fuse them down. I then quilt around them. I love the look of hand applique, but it is very time consuming and I just don't have the patience.

Now I just have to sandwich the quilt and quilt it. Maybe next week.

Have a wonderful day!

New ebay goodies and finished quilt

Happy Monday everyone. It is a beautiful day today. The sun is shining and the temperature is in the high 30's. I took full advantage of today as it is my last day off work for 9 days. Not sure how I'm going to handle working 9 days in a row.  I'm thankful to have a job, but I was so looking forward to having more days off. We usually slow down for a couple of months after Christmas, but this year is different. We've been busier than usual. I decided to try to get alot done in the last couple of days and I have. I finished Cody's eagle quilt last night.

I also had a goal to finish my snowball block quilt top by the end of the week end and I can check that off my to do list. I finished it yesterday.

Today was sewing day with the girls and I completed this quilt top. I cut the pieces before I left and finished the top before heading back home.

It will look similar to this eagle table topper when I am done. I made this one also. I one I am currently working on is for Jane (Cody's second scout mom). I need to finish it before his Eagle Scout Court of Honor in 6 weeks.

This Spring basket was completed also. I will be listing on ebay this afternoon.

Another finish being listed on ebay. A cute little spring rabbit on a crackled box.

This little pin is from a Patti's Ratties pattern and will also go up for sale on ebay.

Well, I better head on over to ebay and get these goodies listed. Have a great week!!

Hugs~Becky
