New Hooked Rug & Swap Goodies in Place

Good Morning~

I just had to show off my new hooked rug I purchased on ebay from Rhonda at My Glory Stars. I have to say I just love it!! I have one other rug of Rhonda's & I have to say she does quality work & her color choices are wonderful. I can't wait to display this in my home.

I also wanted to show you were some of my goodies ended up in my home. This is one of a set of towels. As you can see, it found a home in my kitchen on the handle of an old fruit carrier.

The prairie bonnet found a home on my hoosier cabinet in my dining room. I thought I would like it on my peg shelf in the dining room, but it didn't look right there. I love how it looks next to the frosted glass door.

The little prairie stump doll looks perfect with all my kitchen goodies.

I have a little candle mat that is in my kitchen, but forgot to take a pic. I'll post that later.

I'm off to sit with hubby at the hospital. He's having some health issues, so please keep him in your prayers. I'm hoping all is well & we should know more later today.

Enjoy your day!!
Hugs~Becky

Still Stormin & My Swap Goodies Arrived

Happy Friday Everyone~

I hope you are all have a good day so far. It's raining again today & hot & muggy. We already have a lot of flooding in the area as some nasty storms came through yesterday. Well~enough about the weather~on to the goodies...

I participated in Char's textile swap over at The Pickled Pepper Patch. My swap partner is Lecia of Farmhouse Prims. I came home from some errands yesterday to find this package on my porch.

Hmmm.... I knew who sent the package, but what goodies are hiding inside??

Even though I wanted to rip open the packages, I was a good girl & opened her wonderful card first. I nice note from a new friend....

Inside the first package was this cute little Halloween pillow Lecia bought from another blog friend.... Can it get any better? We're off to a great start!!

Next package....A house & willow tree candle mat~just perfect!! Love it!!

Package #3~a wonderful pack of hand towels & prim Halloween tag. I love crows!! Score ;)

Better view of one of the towels.

I'm showing you all the goodies in the order that they were opened. I think I saved the best for last without even knowing it.
I have to tell a little secret. Lecia was a little nervous about our swap because she said she was not a crafter. These next two items were made by her hands & they are my favorite two items in my swap package. It is wonderful that she came out of her comfort zone to attempt to make a handmade item for our swap. The rule was at least one item had to be handmade by someone. Lecia fulfilled that rule with the pumpkin pillow. I am honored that she made both of these next 2 items for me. She did a wonderful job on both the bonnet & the little prairie doll. I hope she had fun making these & it will something she continues to do. I will treasure them both!

Thanks Lecia for the wonderful goodies my friend. I just hope you will enjoy your goodies as much as I am enjoying mine. If you're reading this, your package will be in the mail soon!!

Enjoy the day everyone~Becky

Challenge Revealed....Meet Momma Mouse

Good Morning~although it's going to be another hot & sticky day here today, I'm not going to let the heat get to me. I'm going to spend the day creating (and do a little cleaning). I decided to participate in Donna's (Sweet Prairie Dwellings) challenge. The challenge was to create something from this wonderful roll of potty paper.

I thought what the heck I am going to do with this? As I was waiting to fall asleep one night, I thought about making a mouse make do. I've been on a mice kick lately as you've all probably noticed. So this is the start....

Meet Momma and her babies.

Momma was sneaking around the people house looking for scraps when she came across this roll of toilet paper. She started by stuffing some of the paper in her pouch, but decided to hide the whole roll under her skirt. She figured the people of the house wouldn't miss one little roll of toilet paper & it would make a nice cozy nest for all her little ones. What do you think? Did she succeed in hiding it?? LOL

Momma with her little pouch & 2 of her babies.

A close up of her pouch. She made the little bag with a scrap of leftover antique quilt she picked up off the floor in the sewing room of the lady person. Baby loves how soft the snippet of toilet paper is & can't wait to snuggle into a bed of it when momma gets it home.

I hope you enjoyed Momma mouse. I had a wonderful time creating her for Donna's challenge.

I'll be checking back later to see what the other's have come up with for Donna's challenge. If you haven't checked out Donna's blog yet, you really should. She makes some wonderful things, has great giveaways, & does fun challenges.

Off to do some creating~I have a swap to finish up & another one to get started & 2 big shows coming up in September (which really isn't that far off).

Enjoy the day & stay cool~Becky

I WON & Goodies from Maxwwell Street Days

Happy Friday Friends~

I'm off to sit at my friends rummage sale today, but decided to do a quick post. First is my exciting news..I won Brenda's giveaway!! Yippee!! She's in the process of moving, so I'll be getting my package towards the end of the month. I'll be sure to show you the goodies when they arrive. I'm not sure what she's sending me yet cuz it's a surprise. Hmmm....what will it be? To check out her wonderful blog just click here.

Here are some of my Maxwell Street Sale goodies.

I bought all this at our local thrift store at half off. I spent a total of $7. The little doll size iron & the rusty light are my favorites. I also bought a lamp shade that I will redo, but didn't take a picture of it.

Have a great day & stay cool~Becky

Thursday Evening

Boy is this week ever flying by. It's been a crazy week here. Getting ready for a rummage sale, setting up, working, crafting, & maxwell street days to name a few things I've been up to.

I've been finishing up a few things. I liked the pumpkin guys so much that I made some smaller ones.

While I've been on a roll with making mice, I decided to try some baby mice. I love how they turned out. The little guys are only about 2" long. This one was sewn on little pumpkin I made. I will be making a bunch of these guys. I put this little guy in an old enamel pan that I had (using up more stash).

A couple more...

Yesterday was our city's annual maxwell street days sale. The local thrift store had 50 percent off everything. I got some more goodies. I'll try to post some pics of what I bought before I go sit at my friends rummage sale tomorrow.

Have a great evening~Becky

More Mice

Good Morning.

I'm popping in to do a quick post this morning before I get to work.

I used up 3 boxes from my stash yesterday. I painted them & stained them. These were actually done Sunday, but I didn't add the mice until yesterday.

I then made a pumpkin and sewed a witch mouse to the pumpkin. I then added them to the top of the boxes.

Here's another view of the mouse.

I spent awhile by my friends house yesterday setting things out for her rummage sale. Today will be spent indoors pulling more items to sell.

I also finished up 2 items for my swap partner, but will not be able to show you all until she receives her package in a couple of weeks. I wouldn't want her to get a sneak peek. Sorry Lecia, you'll have to wait a little while longer.

Enjoy the day~Becky

The Mice are Invading...

Good Morning Friends~

It's hard to believe it's Monday already. The weekend just flew by. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was spent at home crafting. The fuel pump went out on my truck & hubby spent all day Saturday working on that. $300. later, it's ready to go. Good thing hubby is handy cuz I can't imagine what it would have cost if we had to take it in to get fixed. So, seeing I was stuck at home, I worked on these witchy mice. I had started them earlier in the week & finally finished them. They may be small, but they sure are putzy.

Here's a close up.

These gals were mounted on old zinc lids. I will fill a jar with candy corn closer to Halloween & sell them with the corn & all.

I also did a little painting. I painted up 3 of these boxes from my stash. I have plans for them, so I'll show you later this week what I'm doing with them.

Remember Annie? I decided she was a little too plain for me, so I added a rusty star necklace & gave her an Americana apron. I like her much better now.

Here's a close up of her pocket.

Have a great week everyone. I'm off to help a friend set up for her rummage (and a little early shopping LOL). She's letting me add some of my stuff to her sale, so I said I'd help her set up & will be sitting over there on Friday to help.

See ya~Becky

Some Friday Finishes

Yea~it's Friday!! I had a wonderful day today. First off I didn't have to work today. Second~I found more goodies at the thrift shop. #3~My Pickled Pepper Patch Swap partner & I have been in contact & I now have some ideas of what to send her for our textile swap. My partner is Lecia . If you get a chance, click on her name to check out her blog. Sher & her hubby have been renovating an old farmhouse. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you. And last but not least, I'm doing a swap with Donna over at Sweet Prairie Dwellings. I'm one lucky lady. I'm doing 2 swaps!! Yippee!!

Anyway~on to my finishes...

Remember my labels from Natalie?

I found some jars at the thrift store today & went right to work attaching my labels.

This jar with the Wool label is my favorite. I had this jar & it was full of wool strips & my hook for rug hooking. I haven't hooked in a while, but I know one day I will go back to hooking rugs.

This little crock has already found a home.

This one is in my kitchen. I love how these turned out.

This cross stitch was finished last night. I was too tired to sew, but wanted to do something so I sat on the couch & finished this up. I tea dyed it and attached it to my $ store candle that I grubbed up. The candle is just a jar candle that I grubbied up with modge podge & spices. I really love how this turned out. I may have to go buy more candles so I can make some to sell. The pattern came from a sampler book I borrowed from the library.

This is my next project. No~I'm not going to the restroom LOL. I'm working on a challenge that Donna is putting on. There's still time for you to join in. Click on Donna's name above to check out her blog & join in on the fun!!

Gotta go~hubs called & is on his way home from work & is starving. I need to start cooking & stash my goodies I picked up today.

Have a wonderful week end!!
