Today is the final day of the month long display chain hosted by Misi of http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com. The theme for today is Autumn at the table. Autumn signals a change in the weather. The cooler temperatures always bring on the need for comfort food in our home. Nothing says comfort to me than a nice turkey dinner. Over the weekend our family enjoyed a wonderful dinner of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, & sweet corn. Now~I know you probably know how to make this dinner, so I will share another of our favorites. I love to bake & when it is cold outside, I have the perfect excuse. We get a yummy goodie & the oven helps to heat the homestead. These brownies are a family fav.Best Brownies Ever 2 cups sugar
1 cup melted butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
4 eggs
1 & 1/3 cup flour
1 cup baking cocoa
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup mini chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
powdered sugar
Beat butter, sugar, eggs, & vanilla until combined. Mix in dry ingredients leaving out chocolate chips, pecan, & powdered sugar. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Remove from oven & sprinkle chocolate chips & pecans over brownies. Gently press onto the top of brownies. Bake for another 15 minutes or until done. Cool. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top of cooled brownies.
Enjoy!!
