Good Afternoon All~
Wanted to post a couple of pictures of things I have been working on. I picked up all this stuff at Goodwill and decided they needed a makeover. I didn't get any before pics, but everything was a plain light wood. Not sure what I will do with everything yet, but hubby was sick of all my "stuff" laying around. Might have to sell it all~not sure yet.

I just finished this little penny rug. I love it~but it will go in the box to sell. The flash washed out the Santas, but you get the idea.
Till next time~Becky

Old Farmhouse Gathering Goodies in my Home

I finally took pictures in my home of the remaining items that were in my basket won over at the Old
Farmhouse Gathering blog. The first pic is of the basket that all my goodies came in. It is from Rose~Baskets by Rose and as you can see, it fits perfectly in my living room. I have my unfinished punch needle projects in the bottom. I covered them with 3 little pillows made with antique quilts. I just love how this looks in my home. Thanks to Rose for this lovely basket.
The next pic is of the prim little pumpkin tag from Kim of Valley Primitives. I just love the stitching and as you can see, it fits in perfectly with my 3 little needle felted pumpkins. The candle comes from Kimberly of Sugar Creek Hollow. It is Pumpkin Crunch Cake scented & smells wonderful. Thank you ladies for these wonderful goodies.
Don't you just love this sign? I was looking for some kind of sign to go on my old chicken feeder & this fits perfectly. It comes from Kerri over at Curvednoodles. Love it!!

This make do landed on my kitchen countertop. It's a wonderfully prim crow on a pumpkin make do and it comes from Doris of I Play Outside the Box. It is resting next to a primitive spice box. Thank you Doris for this perfectly prim make do.
The next 2 pictures are a set of yummy smelling wax tarts from Andrea of Crow's Nest Primitives. They smell sooo good. They are at home on my prim shoo-fly which sits on top of my stove when I'm not using it. They are so pretty~I don't think I can ever melt them.
This is the awesome (no other way to describe it) votive holder sent by Carol from Firecrackerkid Primitives. It found it's way into my downstairs powder room. It looks wonderful with my hooked pumpkin man and Autumn leaves quilted mat. I have always wanted one of these candle holders & thanks to Carol, I have one.

Last, but not least is this wonderful little Dracula wooden block. It comes from Jody of Primgals' Primitive Pallette. Dracula greets guests entering my home. He made his home on a little cabinet right inside my back door. He didn't make it in the original package (I think he was out visiting some unsuspecting ladies LOL), but arrived safe & sound on my porch this past Saturday. A big thank you to Rose for getting "The Count" to his new home. I would like to thank all you ladies again for the WONDERFUL basket of goodies. I also want to apologize for taking so long getting these posted, but wanted to make sure to give them the proper recognition. I love every last item & appreciate the time it took to make each of my wonderful goodies.
Blessings~Becky

Rosehips

Good morning everyone. I know I've been gone for a few days. Spent the week-end with my family. I finally had a whole week-end off & the weather was beautiful. We spent Saturday morning collecting food for our local food pantry. Both my boys are in scouts & participated in our Scouting for Food Drive. Last week-end we put up door fliers and this was the week-end we went door to door & collected the donated food. Sunday was spent outside cleaning up the yard. I also went by my mom and we went out & collected wild rosehips. This is my pile. I spent the day yesterday dipping them in wax to preserve them. Going on a short trip to the quilt shop with my mom today. I have more pics to post later of the goodies I got from Old Farmhouse Gathering, so see you later.

More Harvest Basket Pictures and Craft Show

It's another dark and dreary day here in Wisconsin. It was a beautiful Fall day yesterday. It reached 70 degrees. Too bad I had to work. I still got to enjoy the day though. Came home and cleaned up some of the dead plants in my yard and still had time to hang some blankets on the line to air out. I'm off today and enjoying myself even if the weather doesn't want to cooperate. I've got some pics of my booth from last week-ends craft show. It's called A Community Affair & features lots of hand made items & booths with antiques. I think my booth looked a little crowded compared to others, but couldn't figure out how to make it look any better with the variety of items that I make. It was a wonderful show for me. The sales were great!! I just wish I would remember to take a picture of my booth after one of these shows. Big difference! Close up of the front of my booth. I just bought this set of shutters and they are a wonderful display piece. They were $10 well spent.
Close up of some of my fall/halloween items. Sorry~pic is a little blurry, but you get the idea.
Some of the table quilts and runners I made.
This little wreath found a home in my kitchen. I have a small spot for hanging things between my window. I have something that goes on the nail for each season/holiday. This little witch wreath is the perfect size and works perfectly~ and I didn't have anything yet to go here for Halloween. Love it!! Thank you again Momma B. Don't mind the "haunted house" in the background. It's right next door & has been vacant for over a year. The bank is just letting it rot away. What a waste!!
Frankie and the Kitty pillow/pinkeep made a home on my Halloween tree. Kitty may find another home next year (maybe tucked in with some of my baskets) but for now I am enjoying him on my Halloween tree. This tree is in my dining room for all to enjoy. A big thanks to Joan for Frankie & Teresa for Kitty. I love them both!!
Close up of Frankie perched on the tree top.
Kitty is about halfway down right in the middle of his favorite snack~candy corn.

Piggy is on my pantry door in my kitchen. She comes from Judy over at the Old Farmhouse Gathering. Just like I thought, my MIL saw her and wanted to take her home. I said maybe in a few weeks. I want to enjoy her for a while first (maybe she'll forget about "Miss Piggy").
I've still got more goodies~so check back to see where the others have ended up.

VFW Dedication and Homecoming

I thought I would post of few pictures of my boys. This is Cody, the oldest of my two boys with his girlfriend Britney. This past week-end was homecoming, so of course they had to go to the dance. They had a good time at the dance hanging out with all their friends.

Another pic of the two of them~this time inside. It was freezing out and I had to snap some pics really fast. Can you tell Cody was telling me I had enough pics of them. He doesn't look exactly thrilled. He had two moms making sure they had lots of pics.

Another pic of Cody in front of his Eagle scout project. Again he looks so thrilled. He did a landscaping project for our local VFW hall. They have a tank in front of the building. He painted all their doors and all the columns on their building. Put concrete edging in front of the building with decorative stone and lilacs. In front of the tank, he used patio pavers to make a triangular shape. Then he filled in with the decorative stone. He had the boulder cut to fit the stone plaque and had it mounted. He repainted the plaque and added the war markers. The war markers represent each war and each marker holds a flag. This was a long project. He had to raise the money to pay for it too. I am so proud of him. Now he just needs to finish up his paperwork and complete a few other things and hopefully he will become an Eagle Scout.

This is part of his completed project.

These 3 men are members of the VFW and were his committee. He went to them with problems or for advice.

The little guy on the right is my baby, Stephen. Well, he's not a baby, but he's my baby. He's 14 and a freshman this year. His goal is to become and Eagle Scout also.

Cody again. Giving his dedication speech in front of the members of the VFW, his family, and all his donors.

That's it for now. Off to try to sleep. Have to work at 6 a.m.

Hugs~Becky

Frankie

I just realized that I missed this picture on my last post. He is Frankie and he is a terrific little guy. His legs are posable. I am thinking he will be my tree topper for my Halloween tree. He comes to me from Joan of Vintage Keepsake Trunk. Frankie came in my basket from the talented artists of Old Farmhouse Gathering. A big thanks to Joan.

Blessings~Becky

Hectic Week-end and Lots of Goodies

Good Morning~
It's been one crazy week-end. So glad I finally have a day off (kind of). As promised, I finally am able to post the pictures of all my wonderful goodies from the generous artists over at http://oldfarmhousegathering.blogspot.com . I was the lucky winner of their fall giveaway. Yippee!! It was a crazy week-end at our house. I had to work all day on Friday, them came home long enough to make supper, then had to go to set up for a craft show on Saturday. Saturday was taken up with the show-had to go early to tweek my booth. The show ended at 4:30 and I was done packing up by 5:30. Got home just in time to take pics of my son & his girlfriend before they headed out for the homecoming dance. Glad I made it. They were so cute. Will post some pics of them tomorrow. Sunday was work all day. So, on to the day off. Need to make 3 batches of chocolate chip cookies, a strawberry cheesecake, cut up sausage for cheese trays, organize a photo album, and pick up plates, forks, cups, etc.. for my son's dedication ceremony that is tonight at 6:30. He has completed his Eagle Scout project and is having the dedication tonight. If I have time, I would like to try to inventory my remaining craft items so that I know what I need to work on for my next show. I don't know how those moms that work full time can do it all. I work part time and have a hard time keeping up (although I've had full time hours for the past month). Well, enough about all that-on the the goodies. I came home Thursday to find this on my porch.

My first thought was-Don't get so excited, Tim probably ordered something and it's his package. But I did a happy dance when I saw it was addressed to me. Good thing my neighbors weren't around. They probably would think I was nuts the way I was dancing around.
My goodies all wrapped up with a wonderful card addressed to me.

Congrats!!

I pulled out something heavy and under all the wrapping was this wonderful candle holder. I have looked at these for years and never bought one. Just LOVE it. Thank you Carol.

This is what the basket looked like when I took it out of the box. Had to control myself, so I wouldn't just rip off the packaging.

After the packaging came off. So pretty!!

First thing I took out was this wonderful painted witch and ghost mounted on a little grapevine wreath. This wonderful goodie came from Momma B's Front Porch.

Next out of the basket is this cute little Piggy oven mitt. It says Country Bakin. A big thank you to Judy for this cute little goodie. It will go in my kitchen if my mother in law doesn't snatch it on me. She's a "piggy" fanatic.

Next out of the basket was this wonderful little cat pillow/cupboard tuck. Picture is kind of blurry, but it's a nice prim little black kitty on an orange background. A big thank you goes to Teresa from Teresa's Primitive Treasures. Love it-Love it-Love it!!

These are from Andrea of Crow's Nest Primitive Shoppe. There is a four pack of Autumn Harvest melting tarts, a vanilla sweet annie tart, and a tube of Bee's wax lip balm. I've already used the lip balm and it's wonderful. Perfect for the upcoming dry winter season. The tarts are so pretty, that I probably won't use them. They will make a pretty display. Thank you Andrea!!

The candle is from Kimberly of Sugar Creek Hollow. A girl can never have too many candles. This is Pumpkin Crunch Cake scented and smells sooo good.
The Ghosts Gather Here sign is perfect!! I was looking for a sign to attach to my metal chicken feeder that I use for corn stalks on my back porch. Thanks to Kerri from Curvednoodles.

I love crows, so I would like to thank Doris for this wonderfully prim crow on a pumkin make-do. Don't you just love the crunched up sign. It says Primitive Blessings. I think I need a new camera. This picture is a little blurry too. Maybe it's just the camera woman lol.

This is the basket all my goodies came in. It's wonderful. I just love baskets of all kinds. I love antique ones, Longaberger ones, and of course baskets that come from the hands of wonderful artists. Thank you Rose of Baskets by Rose for this beautiful basket. It is perfect to store my ongoing punch needle projects.

This handmade tag is attached to my basket. It is adorable!! It comes from Kim of Valley Primitives. Love it on the basket, but it may find another home.

This is a pic of all my goodies after they came out of the basket. What a wonderful and generous group of girls!! I would like to thank them all again. They are all going to be great additions to my home. I will make sure to post pics of where these wonderful items found a place in my home soon.

Off to make some cookies and organize a photo album.

My Goodies Arrived

I was jumping for joy yesterday when I got home. There was a package on my porch with my name on it. I know I said I'd be camped out on my porch till the package arrived, but a girl's got to work. I have to say that I love it all. What a generous group of artists. Sorry-no pics today. Tried to upload them twice and got an error message both times. I will make sure to get them up for all to enjoy ASAP. Working tomorrow, big craft show Saturday, and working again on Sunday. I'll try again on Sunday if I'm not too tired from all the running around (will try again sooner if I get a chance).

Hugs,
Becky

Thrift Store Finds

Oh, how I love the thrift stores. I keep telling myself not to bring home anymore stuff, but somehow the items keep jumping into my cart LOL. Anyway-today was supposed to be my day off, but since I could work whatever I wanted, I decided to work from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Only 3 hours but I had to go to the fabric store today and work was on the way. Made a little cash to pay for my fabric. I work at Cabelas (big sporting goods store) and it's not very often that you get to pick what hours you want to work. We have all our winter clothing coming in, they want it out so it will sell, so we are getting to work morning hours besides our scheduled hours. Every little bit helps-especially when you have thrift shop, fabric, and antique addiction lol. So on my way to the fabric store I stopped at the thrift shop and found the 3 goodies below. $1.54 for the old sewing basket, $.94 for the little sewing storage box, and $.46 for the little salt box. Not bad if I do say so myself. Now they will go into the closet until I can make them over. I just love baskets, so the basket will find a place in my home. I have another craft show next Saturday, so I better get cracking. I have lots of things in the works. Will try to take pics before they get packed up.

Hugs~Becky

I won the OFG Fall Halloween Celebration Basket Giveaway

I'm so excited!! I won the Fall/Halloween basket giveaway by Old Farmhouse Gathering. You can check them out at http://oldfarmhousegathering.blogspot.com. I was so surprised when I checked my email today. I can't wait for it to arrive. I will be perched on my porch for the next few weeks waiting for my wonderful package to arrive. I was so excited when I read my email that I hit the delete button instead of the reply. Good thing I remembered to go to my trash folder. I am terrible on the computer and thought at first that I was going to lose out on all those wonderful goodies. I will make sure to post the pics when my package arrives. This really made my day. It hadn't started out very well. What a way to put a smile on a girls face on this dark and rainy day.

Blessings,
Becky

Another rainy day

Well, it's raining again here in southeastern Wisconsin, so it's a good thing I did some fall decorating outside yesterday. Zoey the beagle enjoyed the day with me, so I've included a pic of my little chow hound. We got her from a coworker of my husband whose mother had passed away. She was sooo overweight when she came to us. Her belly rubbed on the ground. We tried to take her for a walk, and my husband ended up carrying her. She didn't even make it half a block. We think she looks wonderful now even though the vet says she could lose a few pounds.

I got this guy from a craft show a long time ago and still love him. He greets my guests every year in the fall.

Next, I have a simple wagon gathering. I think I would like to put a small sign on the old chicken feeder, but haven't found one I liked yet. I'll have to spend more time checking out the blogs as there are many talented people out there and I've seen some wonderful signs. I just have to decide what I want to do.

This next pic is my husband's handy work. He does this every year. I said he needs to put some of these tombstone markers in the yard next to us (blue house in pic). The house has been vacant for over a year and is really starting to look like a haunted house.

And last, but not least is a candle mat that I made and mounted on a cabinet door. My camera makes it look a little washed out. It's actually darker than it appears.

Off to check out my favorite blogs and maybe check out some new ones before my boys get home.
