My Final Ornie & a Thank You

Ok~so it a month after Marie's http://primitivesbyoldeladymorgan.blogspot.com/ ornie swap and I'm finally posting my final ornament. I was lucky enough to get one of Marie's wonderful creations.

But first check out the goodie bag she sent me. A bag of Hershey's kisses. Can you believe they are still in the bag? Me neither!! Chocolate is my weakness!! But now that I took the picture, I'll be stashing them somewhere for ME.

So here he is~my fabulous snowguy. Don't ya just luv him!!!

And here he is in his new home. He's found a spot in my table display. (Ignore the sewing machine in the corner of the pic. I'm still trying to finish up some Christmas gifties.)

Thank you to Marie for hosting this fabulous swap!! I know it's a lot of work, but I'm hoping she'll host again next year.

Have a great night everyone~I'm off to get my hair done. Gotta cover that grey.

See ya~Becky

2nd to Last

I've almost posted all my ornies from Marie's aka OLM's ornie swap. I'm down to my last 2. I just don't know what is up with me this year. I haven't been in the mood to do anything. I really wanted to do this ornie swap, but had a hard time getting my butt motivated to finish my ornies. Now, I'm finding it very difficult to post the ones I've received. Not fair to the wonderful ladies that sent out such fabulous goodies!! I love every single one of the ornies I received~just no motivation to post pics of them. Ok~I'll quit my whining now. Sorry!!

What do you all think of this guy?? I A~B~S~O~L~U~T~E~L~Y LOVE him!! He is a fabulous giftie from Eve of http://leehillprimitives.blogspot.com/. If you are not familiar with Eve's blog, you need to pop on in to see her. She makes wonderfully prim goodies, shares tutorials, & has lots of eye candy to look at. She also has a selling blog, so go check it out. A belated thank you goes to Eve for this nice prim addition to my tree.

Thanks for visiting today. Make sure to check back for my 6th & final ornie from the swap.

Hoping to share some Christmas decor soon.

Enjoy your week~Becky

More ornie swap goodies

Good Morning All!!

It seems that I am always playing catch up here in blog land. I am days behind again in reading what you all have been up to. I am also super far behind in posting. So sorry~but better late than never I say.

Quite a few weeks ago, I participated in an ornie swap hosted by Marie aka Olde Lady Morgan. I went for the maximum allowed ornies with 6. I posted 2 of them awhile back & am back to post another. I figure if I do 1 a day, I may get them all done before Christmas (at the rate I'm going). So today's ornie is from Karen at http://mycolonialhome.blogspot.com/.

This wonderful tag came tied to my package. It has all her info on it, so I knew who the fabulous goodie inside came from.

And this what was tucked inside the package. A beautiful mitten with a hand stitched feather tree on it. It will make a lovely addition to my tree this year. Thank you Karen~I love it!!

That's it for me today!! I'm going to try to read a few more blogs before I have to go to work this afternoon.

Have a wonderful day~Becky

Ornie Swap Goodies

Remember this box from yesterday's post??? My box from OLM....

Well here are a couple of the goodies that were inside. I don't have time to post them all today, but I'll give you a peek at 2 that were in my box.

First up is this little sock ornie. Precious isn't it?? I think so. It came from Tammy at http://aprimitiveplace.blogspot.com/. Tammy's blog is a favorite of mine, so I was tickled to receive an ornie from her. Thank you so much Tammy! I love it!!

This next little goodie comes from Melissa at http://libbieshome.blogspot.com/. She made this Joy Christmas star. If you aren't familiar with Melissa's blog , stop over & say Hi. You'll be glad you did. I big thanks to Melissa for a perfectly prim addition to my tree this year.

That's it for today. I will share my other ornies in another post. I'm off to pick up my leftover goods from the craft show & then on to work until 1 a.m.

Happy Veterans Day, Snow, Projects, & a Tease

Happy Veteran's Day!!

Please take a few minutes from your busy day today to think of the men & women who sacrificed for our Freedom. We are having a discount day today former & active military men & women so I will get the chance to personally thank some of our veterans. I know the small gesture means a lot~I have had many tell me so in the past.

The last few days, we've gotten some snow. Now we didn't get alot of snow, but it was enough to cause a terrible accident that closed a major highway for hours. One person lost his life & 6 others were sent to the hospital. I was so thankful that I didn't have to work that day. This is the view out my window.

Here are a couple of my newest creations this year. A snowman pocket.

And for you Santa lovers out there, this Santa pocket. I love how they turned out. I have sent them to the craft show that I am in the weekend & will see if any come home. I'm hoping they all sell & I have to make more for next weekend's show. I can't wait for next weekend to be over~that is my last show for the year. I really want to start on some "me" projects.

And here is the tease.....my package from OLM's ornie swap showed up last night. I was almost too tired from working all day to tear into it, but it got the better of me. I had to see what was inside. Would you like to see what I got????

I bet you would, but here is where the teasing part comes in.....you'll have to wait till tomorrow to see. Hehe!! I can be a little evil too.

Come visit tomorrow~I promise to show you then. Maybe by then , some of you will have gotten your goodies. I love all of mine!!

Have a wonderful day all. I'm working VIP night tonight & have to work all weekend from 5p.m. to 1a.m. I think that's going to be a little past my bedtime.

Enjoy your weekend~Becky

Tuesday Display Chain...Autumn at the Table

Today is the final day of the month long display chain hosted by Misi of http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com. The theme for today is Autumn at the table.

Autumn signals a change in the weather. The cooler temperatures always bring on the need for comfort food in our home. Nothing says comfort to me than a nice turkey dinner. Over the weekend our family enjoyed a wonderful dinner of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, & sweet corn. Now~I know you probably know how to make this dinner, so I will share another of our favorites.

I love to bake & when it is cold outside, I have the perfect excuse. We get a yummy goodie & the oven helps to heat the homestead. These brownies are a family fav.

Best Brownies Ever

2 cups sugar

1 cup melted butter

2 teaspoons vanilla

4 eggs

1 & 1/3 cup flour

1 cup baking cocoa

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup mini chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

powdered sugar

Beat butter, sugar, eggs, & vanilla until combined. Mix in dry ingredients leaving out chocolate chips, pecan, & powdered sugar. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Remove from oven & sprinkle chocolate chips & pecans over brownies. Gently press onto the top of brownies. Bake for another 15 minutes or until done. Cool. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top of cooled brownies.

Enjoy!!

Thanks for stopping in today. Make sure to head over to Misi's blog to check out the other fantastic recipes.

A big thank you to Misi for hosting this month long chain. It's been a lot of fun (as usual).

Have a wonderful evening~Becky

Tuesday Display Chain Week Two...One Display

Hello once again!! It's time for the weekly display chain hosted by Misi over at http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/2011/10/tuesday-display-chain-choose-your-two.html. This weeks challenge was to build a display using the two colors of your choice. Color choices were orange & black, green & black, or white & black.

After looking around & trying to decide on just one display, I chose orange & black as my color theme.

This is my display. Quite simple, but one of my favorites.

Close up on the chair...

Tuesday Display Chain....Framed In

Happy Tuesday Blogging Friends!!

It is time once again for Misi's display chain. This weeks theme is framed in. I thought all weekend about what I would post & finally decided to show some pics of some of my framed creations.

My first framed pic is the one I love the most. Being on a budget & living in an older home has presented some challenges. We didn't know how long we were going to stay here & didn't want to invest in a kitchen redo, so I painted & antiqued our kitchen cabinets. First I had hubby frame in the cupboard doors with inexpensive trim. These are the finished cabinets.

Here is what they looked like before the transformation. We had to buy one new one to replace this one which was starting to fall apart. It works great in the garage for extra storage though.

A needle felted pumpkin pic made by a fellow crafter. She also made the pumpkins.

My very first punch needle project.

A little wool felt pumpkin pic. Made this one to sell, but couldn't part with it.

Framed piece of crazy quilt.

Christmas gift I made for my mom a couple of years ago. She had a friend make the frame.

I made this pic from an old mirror I picked up at the thrift store. I used a piece of an old quilt for the background. This sits on the fireplace at my Mom's house.

A beautiful quilt in an antique frame made by my very talented mom.

Thanks for stopping by & make sure to check out the other wonderful posts on Misi's blog. You can find her here http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/2011/09/week-1-framed-in-month-long-display.html.

See ya!!

It's Back...The Tuesday Display Chain

Misi over at http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/ has brought back a blog favorite. It is the Tuesday display chain. This week's theme is Seasonal Peg Racks.

This is a quickie post as I am off to bed soon. I don't have my fall goodies out yet, but wanted to give the chain a whirl. I usually add small bunches of bittersweet to this peg rack, but haven't collected any yet. I added a mini white pumpkin & fall doll to this display. Little touches will soon turn into an all out redo.

And this little peg shelf is in my 1/2 bath. It sports a nice little prim cone light, a prim star pocket with candle, & a basket filled with sweet annie & some dried grasses.

Well~that's all for the evening. Make sure to head over to Misi's blog to check out all the other fabulous peg shelf displays.

Have a wonderful evening~Becky
