Tuesday Display Chain...Autumn at the Table

Today is the final day of the month long display chain hosted by Misi of http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com. The theme for today is Autumn at the table.

Autumn signals a change in the weather. The cooler temperatures always bring on the need for comfort food in our home. Nothing says comfort to me than a nice turkey dinner. Over the weekend our family enjoyed a wonderful dinner of roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, & sweet corn. Now~I know you probably know how to make this dinner, so I will share another of our favorites.

I love to bake & when it is cold outside, I have the perfect excuse. We get a yummy goodie & the oven helps to heat the homestead. These brownies are a family fav.

Best Brownies Ever

2 cups sugar

1 cup melted butter

2 teaspoons vanilla

4 eggs

1 & 1/3 cup flour

1 cup baking cocoa

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup mini chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

powdered sugar

Beat butter, sugar, eggs, & vanilla until combined. Mix in dry ingredients leaving out chocolate chips, pecan, & powdered sugar. Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Remove from oven & sprinkle chocolate chips & pecans over brownies. Gently press onto the top of brownies. Bake for another 15 minutes or until done. Cool. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the top of cooled brownies.

Enjoy!!

Thanks for stopping in today. Make sure to head over to Misi's blog to check out the other fantastic recipes.

A big thank you to Misi for hosting this month long chain. It's been a lot of fun (as usual).

Have a wonderful evening~Becky

Tuesday Display Chain at 1890 Gable House Musings

Happy Tuesday!!

It is once again time for the display chain hosted by Misi of http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/. This is week 3 of a month long display chain. This week's theme is Fall Foilage- Nature on display or nature in display.

Won't you join me on a trip to Pike Lake State Park?? It's a beautiful day for a hike!!

The trails are full of fallen leaves. Crunch...crunch...crunch. I don't think we'll sneak up on any animals today.

Crossing the river. Lots of floating foilage....

Leaving the park....down the road. Thanks for coming along for the hike.

Next up~a couple of random pics from my home. Little display outside my garden shed. Grapevine wreath with wild bittersweet tucked here & there.

Some faux fall leaves & some more wild bittersweet.

More wild bittersweet tucked on a cabinet top in my kitchen.

There you have it. My nature inspired fall foliage display. Make sure to head over to Misi's blog to check out the other beautiful displays!!

Tuesday Display Chain Week Two...One Display

Hello once again!! It's time for the weekly display chain hosted by Misi over at http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/2011/10/tuesday-display-chain-choose-your-two.html. This weeks challenge was to build a display using the two colors of your choice. Color choices were orange & black, green & black, or white & black.

After looking around & trying to decide on just one display, I chose orange & black as my color theme.

This is my display. Quite simple, but one of my favorites.

Close up on the chair...

I'm off to enjoy the rest of this beautiful warm day!!

Have a great one~Becky
