My Favorite Gift

Happy Wednesday!!

This is just a quick post to show you what my DH made for me. When he asked what I wanted for Christmas, I said the only thing I wanted was a cover for my mixer. He did a wonderful job on it. Now, I'm off to paint it.

I'm still having computer issues~it needs to go back for warranty. My son will be home soon, so I need to finish up so he can have his laptop back. Have a wonderful day!!

Merry Christmas a Day Late

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a wonderful time spent with our families.

I will be gone again for a while. I am having computer issues again~same problem~computer says it cannot find a hard drive. I'll be on the phone with Dell again tomorrow. Our other computer also died, so I'm on my son's new Christmas present while he's at work. I'm off to check on some of the blogs I follow cuz he'll be home in about 30 minutes & will want his new toy back soon. Have a wonderful evening & I'll try to keep you all up to date.

Powder Room Decorations

Happy first day of Winter everyone. Today was my day off & I did not get as much done as I hoped. I did some baking & more decorating, but still need to wrap gifts.

Here are a few pics of my powder room decorated in it's holiday finery. Enjoy!!

I'm off to bed as soon as my son gets home from work. It's slippery out & I'll sleep better knowing he's home & safe.

Hooked Goodies for Christmas

Good Morning~

I'm off to work this morning, but thought I'd do a quick post on some of my hooked goodies I've collected over the last couple of years. This santa rug was hooked by my friend Judy & I had to have it as soon as I saw it.

This mitten was one of the first hooked pieces I bought for my winter displays. I love that the prim star is not perfect.

Love this snowman!!

These little snowguys were a gift from my friend Judy. I just love them & hate when I have to pack them away each year.

A closer shot.

This little guy was also made by my friend Judy. She creates such wonderful things. I would love to have one of everything she creates, but I have to limit myself to one (sometimes 2) pieces each year.

Another Judy creation.

I love this last piece because it is so NOT perfect. I think the lady was a beginning hooker, but the mitten was too cute to pass up. It reminds me that we are all beginners at one point & even as we learn & become better at what we do~we are seldom perfect. We all have perfect days, but that is the exception in our daily lives~not the rule.

Here's hoping you all have a perfect day. Me~I'm off to work.

One of my Little Trees & Baking Cookies

I thought I would share one of my Christmas trees with you this evening. This one sits on the table in my dining room. It has lots of hand made ornaments. Did you also notice my table runner? It is from my swap with Lecia & I love it!! The potpourri around the candle is also from Lecia.

Here is a closer shot of the tree. The crow ornie also came from Lecia. I love crows & this Santa Crow sits on the top of my tree.

Santa Crow in all his glory...

More ornies...

A punched pocket I made a few years ago...

Lecia also sent this little Believe pillow.

Another of my punched projects...

I bought this little rabbit ornie about 10 years ago & I still love it. I made the mini penny rug ornie.

Isn't this little mousie the cutest? I made him last year & decided to keep him for myself.

I'm working on making some chocolate chip cookies. The house smells wonderful & the heat from the oven is a welcome addition on this very cold evening.

Well~it's almost time to take out the first batch, so have a wonderful evening.

Stay warm~Becky

Cold, Snow, and the start of Christmas Decorating

Good Afternoon Friends~

Sunday morning I woke up to a winter wonderland. The snow started late on Saturday night & was letting up by Sunday morning. We ended up with 10 inches of the white stuff.

I wish I could have stayed home, but off to work I headed. It was a rough drive in. It had rained before turning into snow & the roads were awful. We were in full blizzard mode. The wind was whipping & there were times I could not see where I was going. I made it to work safely.

Here is another view from my back porch. Isn't the snow pretty?

I'm off today & finally getting around to some decorating for the season. It's in the low teens with a below zero wind chill, so it's the perfect day to stay in & do some decorating. Here is a little sneak peak. The dresser was my Grandma's & it's perfect sitting in the entry of my living room.

Here is a close up of the top of my cubby which sits on top of the dresser. The little snowman picture is my very first punch needle project.

Hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. I'll be sharing more decorating in the next few days. Thanks for visiting & hope you stop back to visit again soon.

Swap Goodies From Lecia at Farmhouse Prims

Good Evening Friends.

I hope you all had a wonderful day. I'm finally getting around to posting my swap goodies from a wonderful friend. I participated in a swap on Char's (Pickled Pepper Patch) blog a while back & was partnered with Lecia at Farmhouse Primitives.  We had such a wonderful time swapping that we decided to do another swap. This time is was a Christmas swap. It was for one ornie, a handstitched item, & a few other goodies. This is what I received~don't you just love the wrapping?

Here are the goodies she sent me.

Lecia stitched up this candle mat. Isn't it just prim perfection??

Also in my goodie bag was this wonderful little believe stitched pillow/ornie, a prim fabric covered can, & some wonderful smelling potpourri.

The santa crow is awesome and do you see what he's resting on? Lecia went on a trip with some girlfriends to Lancaster, PA & brought me this wonderful table runner from Family Heirloom Weavers. What a wonderful surprise!!!

Lecia also sent me a set of blue & tan check curtains. I will make sure to post a pic of them when I get them up.
I love swapping with blogging buddies!! Thank you so much Lecia for being such a terrific swap partner. I love it all!!

To see what I sent to Lecia, go visit her blog. To visit, click on her blog name above.

Have a great evening!!

Look What I Found

Good Morning Friends.....

I'm just popping on to show you the latest goodie I found yesterday at the local thrift store. It was only $5!! I don't think it is old, but I love it anyway.

I'm off to visit the Yore store today with my mom. I should be crafting, but I can't resist going to Yore for their Christmas open house. Mom is driving so I'm taking lots of hand work for the trip~so technically I'm working on crafties LOL.

Have a wonderful Saturday!!

I'm Back...Finally & a Big Thank You to Kerri!!

Well good afternoon friends. I've finally made it back to the blogging world after major computer issues. My laptop had to go back to Dell for some doctoring & it seems like I have been gone forever. I've been using my son's computer to do quick checks on all the blogs I follow, but haven't taken the time to comment. I was usually being rushed to get off, so I did some quick reading & that's about it. I've missed a lot though.

It's been crazy here as usual. I missed out on showing you all my Halloween decorating, so I'll show you just a few things today & the rest will have to wait until next year.

I participated in a Harvest swap over at the Pickled Pepper Patch & I got a wonderful partner. I was so excited when Char said Kerri at The Calico Rabbit would be my swap partner. I love her blog & she creates the most wonderful goodies. My computer went into major malfunction before I could post pics of the wonderful goodies she sent me, so now that I'm back, I would LOVE to share what she sent me. The top pic is what I saw when I opened up my huge package. Notice the card~beautiful (even though I'm showing it to you with the pumpkin upside down). Another view of the card is below along with some wonderful smelling potpourri.

A wonderful fall swag...

Heavenly smelling putka pods~mini pumpkins.

A handmade (and her own design) acorn & leaf wool pocket.

An awesome Harvest sign...

5 little pillow ornies/tucks. I love these & was secretly hoping for some of these. To make your own, Kerri has a wonderful tutorial on her blog for making these~just click on her blog name at the top of this post.

A wonderful & very large pantry cake she made. It has a fall leaf on the top & I love it!!

And last, but not least, she sent my this yummy smelling candle.

Now here are the goodies in my home.

Thank you so much Kerri!! You were a wonderful swap partner & spoiled me rotten!!

I also wanted to show you this spooky Halloween display near our home. These guys went all out!!

So glad to be back, but I must say good-bye for now. I'm off to work. Enjoy the day!!
