Thank you & Giveaway

I would like to thank each & every one of you for your prayers for our family. It meant so much to me to hear from so many of you. Your kind words gave me strength.

My dear father in law passed away on Easter Sunday of a massive heart attack. He was 73 years old & so full of life. What makes his passing so difficult, is he left us a giant mess. We are still sifting through mounds of papers & other things looking for important papers. Nothing is together. My mother in law did not know where anything was. He took care of the household. She doesn't even drive. It will be a long process, but we will manage.

Thank you all for listening.

Now, back to my giveaway. I will post the winners tomorrow. I will draw a name for the quilt & pinkeep dolly. I will then pick a second winner, because thanks to you all, I have made it to 200+ friends. And I will pick a third winner for making you all wait for me. Winner #2 & #3 will each get a pinkeep dolly. I'll even let you choose the dress color.

Thank you all again for your thoughts & prayers in our time of sorrow.

Blessings~Becky

We lost my dear father in law yesterday to a heart attack. I am postponing the drawing for my giveaway for a few days so that I can spend time with family to start the healing process. Thank you so much for your understanding. I will draw the winners in a few days. Sorry.

Final Scavenger Hunt

Today is a bittersweet day for me.

I am posting my very last post for the scavenger hunt hosted by Misi of 1890 Gable House Musings.

Everyone was having so much fun with this. We didn't want it to end. So Misi split the final hunt into 3 parts.

This is part three~Flowers & Furbabies (any age).....flowers or furbabies, your choice.

Bucket of flowers. Again, Becky wasn't about to give up her chair. Especially when there were some lovely flowers for her to sit next to.

These next two are the only flowers blooming in my yard. I can't wait for more.

A couple of faux flowers.

And this is our furbaby~Zoey. I took this picture this morning & she's saying "Really Ma!! I was snoozing & ya had to go & stick a camera in my face!!"

Zoey & Cody last June.

Zoey cuddled up with Stephen on our way home from snowmobiling this winter.

And of course, her favorite thing to do~hanging out with Stephen watching You Tube videos.

There you have my final hunt.

A big hug goes out to Misi for hosting such a fun hunt. I know everyone who participated had a blast.

Have a beautiful day~Becky

Display Chain~Easter Displays

It's Tuesday & time again for the display chain hosted by Misi at 1890 Gable House Musings.

This week's theme was picked by Robyn. She chose Easter displays.

I've shown most of mine already, but I have a few new ones.

It was a beautiful day, so I spent some time outside after work. I hauled a couple of goodies outside for this picture. A williraye santa riding a rabbit (kept out year round) paired with a bucket of flowers.

Rusty bunny looks like he's munching on my tulips.

I'm patiently waiting for something to bloom. Nothing today yet, but soon I hope.

Make sure to hop over to Misi's blog to see other lovely displays.

Enjoy your evening~Becky

My Giveaway a Few Days Late

Good Afternoon Friends! It's a beautiful sunny day here in Wisconsin & boy does the sun feel good on my face.

I want to apologize for the late posting of my giveaway. I know I promised to post it on Sunday, but I've had to do a lot of thinking the last couple of days & just didn't feel like posting anything. Nothing bad, just a lot to think about. More about that later~you all want to know what you can possibly win.

I'm giving away this little quilt & a sewing pocket dolly (dolly pattern by Barefoot Primitives).

The little quilt is 10 x14 and is made up of 25 different fabric squares. The border is tan & the binding is blace. It has been tea stained.

The dolly is about 9 inches long & is made from tea stained muslin. Her dress is navy blue & has a wool stitched on heart.

She has 2 little pockets for scissors or what nots.

Now for the details:

1. You must be a follower of my blog & comment on this post only. New friends are always welcome. = 1 entry
2. You must live in the United States or Canada.
3. Posting on your blog = 1 entry. Please let me know if you do this.
4. Blogging about my giveaway= 2 entries. Please let me know you are doing this.

That's 4 chances to enter.

If I reach 200 friends before the drawing, I will pick 2 winners. Not sure what the second prize will be yet, maybe another little dolly???

Drawing will be held on April 25th (my mom's birthday. Winner (or winners) will have 1 week to contact me or I will pick another winner.

I'll be back later to post for today's display chain. I'm off to enjoy some of this sun before it's gone.

Generosity of Bloggers & New Magazine

Happy Saturday my blogging friends.

I want to tell you about a wonderfully talented & generous lady in blogland. Many of you probably know who Madalynne is, but this is for those of you that are not familiar with her. Her blog is named Pineapple Primitives & I guarantee you will love it. She recently had an Early Bird gets the Worm giveaway & I was one of the lucky girls who won a piece of her work.

Meet Miss Sparrow~one of 10 she gave away.  Sorry about the poor picture quality. It dark & dreary here today & no matter how hard I tried, I was unable to get a decent picture.

Miss Sparrow is just beautiful. Madalynne's attention to detail is amazing. She made her home on my little shelf with my pinkeeps & little spools where I can enjoy her every day.
Thank you Madalynne~I will cherish Miss Sparrow always.

And look what showed up in my mailbox today~my issue of PRIMITIVE QUILTS & PROJECTS magazine. I haven't paged through it yet, but the designers that are featured are many of my favorites. To get your own subscription, visit primitive quilts & projects here.

Well~I'm off to page through my new magazine & pick up the house. I heard the H (hoarder) word again this morning & I'm on a mission to hide all my stuff.

I'll also be completing my giveaway project today. Be on the lookout tomorrow for the picture & the details.

Have a great Saturday friends!!

Scavenger Hunt Week 4....Part 2

Here is part 2 of Week 4's scavenger hunt at 1890 Gable House Musings.

We've been having so much fun playing this game that Misi split the final week into 3 parts.

For part two we needed 4 of the 6 of the following items:

Ruby slippers/shoes
Wooden shoes
Biscotti
Christening gown
Dried apple gourd
Heart pantry cake

I'm not sure if all of my goodies qualify, but this is what I came up with. This one was the toughest for me. Maybe because I didn't have much time to hunt with all the things going on around our house.

 It has been great fun.

Anticipation of the weekly list.
The hunt.
Looking at all the lovely displays.

Here goes....Old Christening gown

My son's Christening suit.

Wooden shoes...

Biscotti...

Ruby slippers...

Heart pantry cake...

All together...

Part 3 is furbabies or flowers. Fun! Fun!

Thanks Misi for a terrific time!!

Have a wonderful evening!!

Becky

Scavenger Hunt Week 4.... Part 1

This is week 4 & the final week of Misi's  scavenger hunt. Everyone is having such a fun time that Misi decided to throw in a twist. She split week 4 into three parts. This is part one.

We need 2 items from the following list:

Bath & Body Work's - Gentle Foaming Hand Soap ~ "Warm Vanilla Sugar

Bath & Body Work's - Midnight Pomegranate Lotion

Bath & Body Work's - Orange Sapphire Lotion

Ulta Beauty's - 3 in 1 Shower Smoothies ~ Pink Champagne-or-Key Lime-or-Tangerine Dreams

Sephora's- Body Butter

Bed Head's - Hair Spray

John Frieda's - Shampoo
One Source's - Gummi Bear Multi Vitamins or any vitamins

Sally Hansen's - Diamond strength Nail Polish

Any CST,Big Bar Moisturizing Soap- Eucalyptus & Aloe, or Bergamot & Mint, or Tea Tree & Lavender, or Clay & Ginseng

I had the shampoo & the vitamins. I had some Bath & Body works products, but not the one's on the list.

A little display in an old basket.

And little miss nosy~Zoey had to see what mamma was up to. She's really wondering where the pizza went.

And we also needed one item from Misi's Bero's list. These included:

A Half Eaten Pizza
The movie ~ Chevy Chase*Christmas Vacation

Polo Blue Cologne
A Bottle of True Blood --(ok that's mine...missing my Mr Bill Compton :0)

It's hard to get a picture of pizza when you have two hungry teenagers in the house. We usually don't have leftovers, so I had to quickly snap a picture before they devoured it.

And the little lady in the picture is Miss Becky. She is one of the goodies I received from my swap with Marie aka Old Lady Morgan. The chair is hers & she wasn't budging.

Make sure to head over to Misi's blog to check out the displays by the others taking part in the hunt. Misi is a wonderful hostess & we're all having a blast!!

I'll be posting part 2 of my hunt in a bit.

Enjoy your evening~Becky

Name that Bear Contest & Birthday Goodies in the Mail

I have to tell you about this wonderful giveaway in blogland. Traci from York Mountain Mercantile is having a name that bear contest on her selling blog. You can get up to 5 chances to win this wonderful teddy. Contest ends on April 19th so hurry on over. Click on the link above to visit her. While you're at it, check out her regular blog too. You can find her here.

On to the goodies!! I ordered a couple things from Traci & they arrived yesterday. In the box was this little ditty bag with a Birthday card & some jelly beans. You see~I had ordered myself a Birthday present from Traci.

This was also in my package. The picture is not too great, but it is an old fashioned railroad ticket. It has the destination, starting point, mailing date, estimated arrival date, conductors (Traci's) signature & a few other things on it. It is a wonderful keepsake to go with my present.

These are my two presents to myself. I bought Traci's wonderful penny pillow & SEB bear. I fell in love with SEB as soon as I saw him, but was hoping someone else would snatch him up. You see, I'm not a bear kind of girl. I love prim rabbits. I kept checking & hoping he was adopted, but day after day he called to me. Finally I decided he was meant to be mine. OMG, he is perfect!!!
So much better here than in his portrait. I will treasure him always. No old trunk for him!!

Thank you so much Traci!! Your work is fabulous!!

Have a wonderful day friends!!
I need to turn off my computer! I'll be working on my giveaway goodie today & hopefully will finish it.

Springtime Swap Goodies

I took part in Char's (the Pickled Pepper Patch) springtime swap & was partnered with Jennifer aka Busy Bee. These are the goodies she sent to me.

A wonderfully prim bonnet. I added it to my peg shelf with all my other bonnets. It fits right in.

Yummy chocolates (had to hide them from the boys). Still have one of the candy bars~surprise, surprise!!

Spring pantry jar with faux grass. Melting tarts that smell so yummy.

And this awesome candle holder that she made.

And here are 2 of the things I sent her~a little framed picture & a bumble bee. I forgot to take pics of her other goodies, but I also sent her a bag of spring chick bowl fillers, a prim metal basket with old quilt bunnies & prim eggs, a bunny pocket, & a bag of reeses mini peanut butter cups.

It was a fun swap & I want to thank her for my goodies. Also a big thanks to Char for hosting.

Have a great evening~Becky

Tuesday Display Chain~Redo & Hoosier for Sale

Happy Tuesday friends. I'm linking up with Misi today at 1890 Gable House Musings for today's display chain. This weeks theme is redo.

This is what I am working on redoing. I made the lamp shade from a plain white shade. Wove this wool basket & stitched on some berries & vines. The base is an old spool that someone had made into a lamp. As you can see, I still need to remove the apple & sand off the red paint.

And after checking out some other bloggers offerings, I decided to redo the tops of some of my things. I was so excited to be redoing some things, that I forgot the "before" pics until after I had everything ripped apart.

This is the top of a cabinet in my living room. Decided to put a bunch of my Rowe pottery in one place instead of having it spread throughout the house.

This shelf is on the wall in my dining room. Before it was just a hodge podge of different things. I decided to add most of my old bobbin collection to it.

Redid the top of my pie safe in my sewing room. This used to hold my bobbin collection. I like the simplified look here.

This little stand sits on a small table in my sewing room. This is a new addition. I added some pinkeeps & the rest of my bobbin collection here.

Here is the Hoosier cabinet I'm selling. The blue cupboard took it's place & while I love the Hoosier, I no longer have a home for it. It would have to be picked up, but if you're looking for a hoosier & live close to Milwaukee, Wisconsin (or are interested in a road trip) shoot me an email & we'll talk.

Make sure to head over to Misi's blog to check out what others have redone.

I'm off to tech school with #1 son for a required meeting about his upcoming classes.

Have a wonderful day!!

Thank you to all who commented to wish me a Happy Birthday!!

Becky
