Fall Decorating

Good Morning,

Well I finally had a day off work on Saturday, so I decided it was time to get out my fall/Halloween decorations. I was tired from helping my son work on his Eagle Scout project for Boy Scouts (I'm getting too old to be shoveling and raking out decorative stone for hours.) It was a nice day and he's running out of nice weather to completed his landscaping project, so we decided to do all the stone work in one day. Enough about that, I'll have pictures and explain in another post. On to the goodies!! Top pictures is a cabinet I have in my dining room. I'm thinking of painting the little spice cabinet black, but haven't gotten to it yet.

This bench is also in my dining room. Most of the items are here year round. I just added the witch and the little stitchery quilt to the display.

A wonderful fall pocket I made a couple of years ago.

Must like this pocket so much that I put it on twice. OOPS!! Not savvy enough to figure out how to delete this pic without having to redo the whole post.

Wonderful witch cat and cat penny mat.

Little shelf that used to be in my parents' cabin before I decided it would look better in my home. Witch kitty sits on top. Hooked pumpkin purse, black cat, and a couple of wool pumpkins round out the display.

Love old wooden boxes. I've topped a couple with a little black butter bowl filled with putka pods and a prim candle and a framed punch needle pumpkin.

Wonderful pumpkin hooked rug that I purchased from a friend.

Skeleton doll holding his pet crow.

Hooked pumpkin girl and her black cat boyfriend. I made these dolls about 5 years ago and still love them.

Pumpkin pocket with candy corn that I purchased 2 years ago from a talented ebay artist.

This display sits on a tall thin cabinet right inside my back door. I made the penny rug and the picture. The other items were purchased from craft shows.

Hope you enjoyed the pics. It's been raining here for the last two days (we needed it) so I haven't done any outdoor displays. Will post these another time. Becky

Quilters Eye Candy

Good Evening. Haven't posted in a couple of days and haven't gotten out my fall/Halloween goodies out of storage yet, so I thought I would take some pictures of some of the little quilts I've made. So~here goes. Enjoy!!

Just a small group my quilts. I'll take more pictures of my quilts in the future. I have a day off of work tomorrow and plan on putting out my fall goodies so I'll be sure to take some pictures to share.
Blessings,
Becky

Craft show pictures

I had the opportunity these past two weeks to sell my creations at two different craft shows near my home town. The first show I did was the week end of September 12 and 13 at Trimborn Farm Park in Greendale, Wisconsin. This is a fabulous fall show at an old historic farm in the heart of the city of Greendale. The farm has been turned into a park for all to enjoy. I didn't get any pictures of the park, but if you are interested you can check it out at www.milwaukeehistory.net/historic_properties/trimborn_farm.html . The other show I did was on September 19 at the grounds of Holy Hill church. Both shows are fantastic shows. I had a wonderful time at both shows. This picture is of the crowd of people at the Holy Hill show. This aisle is big enough to drive a truck down and it was solid people most of the day.

These are the witches I made with a pattern by Viv of Blue Moon Beginnings. It is her liberty angel pattern. Idecided to make witches instead of Americana angels. I will make the angels later, but know people are more geared toward fall and Halloween at this time of the year.

Next comes my watermelon mice made from a Kentucky Primitives pattern.

This wonderful pattern comes from Sandi at the Olde Country Cupboard. Love him!!

This picture is from my show at Trimborn farm park.

Another picture from the Trimborn show. My booth looked so crowded. I wish I would have take after pictures.

Another picture from the Trimborn show.

This picture came from the Holy Hill show.

Another before picture from the Holy Hill show.

This box is one of my make overs. I started with a plain wood box that had an Amish couple painted on the front that I got from Goodwill for $ 1.50. I roughed it up and spray painted it flat black. After it dried, I sanded it a little more and rubbed it with Minwax Colonial Walnut stain. I made the wool mat that is on the front cover from some scraps of wool. After I glued the mat on the front of the box, I needed something to cover the heart on the top part of the box. I used some more scraps of wool and made the little round pumpkin penny to cover the heart. Love how it turned out.
I finally have a little time to breath. I don't have another show for about a month, so I'm finally going to take the time and get out my fall goodies.
Happy Fall~Until next time,
Becky

Frantic

I know it's been a while since I last posted, but I have been frantically working on projects for my first show of the season which is this week-end. And crazy woman that I am, I have another show in a week-so I'm under pressure. On top of these two shows, I've been putting in a lot of hours at work. I only work part time, but these last couple of weeks have been full time hours. I hate when I get slammed with hours, but don't complain cuz I am lucky to have a job.

No pictures to post because everything that gets finished goes right into a box. I will be setting up for my show on Friday night, so I will make sure to take lots of pictures then.

Bye for now,
Becky
