2013 Goals

I have decided to set some goals for myself in this New Year. I have decided that I would like to take some time to do some things for me. One of those goals is to spend more time with family and friends just enjoying their company. I did just that today....I went to lunch with a girlfriend. We had a wonderful time. It was so nice to just sit and talk and enjoy a wonderful meal.

Another goal set is to completely finish at least one quilted project a month. I have so many projects that they could keep me busy for the rest of my life. I am not kidding...and bad girl that I am...I keep on adding to the pile.

So today I worked on a few of my projects. I decided to start with a super simple one to get me motivated. A simple little quilt made up of 9 four patch blocks and a border. Here are the cut squares all ready to go.

My nine completed 4 patch blocks.

The 9 blocks all sewn together....

And the finished top with the border added.

I got it quilted and the binding sewn on. I just need to hand sew the binding to the back of the quilt and it will be finished. I'm planning on completing it tonight.

I also quilted another small quilt that I had sitting around and quilted 2 little mini quilts. These all need bindings yet, but I feel I accomplished quite a bit today. Now to just keep going.

I have also set a couple of other personal & professional goals for the year, but won't bore you with those.

Have a wonderful evening~Becky

Yeah that you took time for a friend. I find it too easy to neglect friendships and I know that is so wrong!
Good luck with your quilty projects. you are off to a great start.
Happy New Year.
Hugs :)

Guess I am feeling a lot like you are...I need to re-adjust things this year to have more time for things I want to do too....like exercise and also finish some quilts I have laying around...paint some rooms, make some curtains...etc.
Looking forward to seeing all your completed projects as the months go by.

Hi Becky. Same thing for me. Lots of quilt projects to finish up. I have many of them unfinished like you do.
I finished binding two of them yesterday and the other one today. They are just wall hangings, but were actually supposed to be Christmas gifts for my sisters and never got them finished in time :(
I am a bad girl tooooooooooooo!
I have a lot of tops finished that just need to be quilted too. Guess I better get sewing.

Good for you Becky...I think I will try that too ! Well, not the quilting part, lol, but I will substitute rug hooking.

Becky I understand how you feel....my UFO bin is full and I just keep adding stuff to it. I love to hand quilt but it takes me forever to do a full or a queen quilt and I have one of each looking at me from the UFO bin. I need to be like you....set some goals but it's so easy to push it all in the closet....LOL. :0)

Wow! You did get a lot done in one day! I get excited about starting new projects, too, but they tend to get set aside if they're not done by the time I need to upload them for a deadline. ~Roberta
