Pinkeeps from Brenda

Happy Saturday!!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I'm enjoying my day off by working on some craft projects. I have a small quilt quilted & a bunch of mouse heads sewn. I'm taking a quick break to show off some recent purchases.

I bought some pin keeps from Brenda over at Pine Tree Prims. She was selling her goodies on ebay & I wanted them all, but stopped at 3 of them. They arrived on Thursday. I love them all!! Thank you Brenda.

I put one by my little blue kiddy cupboard.

And I put the other 2 in my blue wooden box I bought from Misi. I packed my Spring pinkeeps up until next year. I will miss them. Hehe

And look what Brenda sent me!! A bonus little ditty bag. I'll fill it with some drieds & display it from one of my cubbies. Thank you so much Brenda!! I love my new goodies!!

I'm off to check on some blogs.I knew I couldn't go a whole weekend without blogging. Just a few peaks & then back to work.

Enjoy the rest of your day~Becky

Antique Mall Goodies X 2

Yippee!! It's Thursday!! One more day to work. Hopefully I'll get busy & get some goodies made this weekend. It's only 3 months till my first show & I have nothing done. 3 months seems like a long time, but it's really not. I usually work on goodies all year.

I went to the Pardeeville Antique Mall with my Mom last week & picked up lots of new goodies. I found lots of blue things (my favorite color).

This wood bowl is huge. It's my biggest yet. Don't know yet if I will add it to my stack or if I will find another home for it. I also got both whisk brooms, 2 little pillows (one from on old coverlet piece & the other feather stuffed made from old ticking).

Here's a close up of the quilt covered whisk broom. It has an old #37 metal tag attached to the front. The little tag says Vintage finds.

Some quilt wrapped clothespins. Made from an old blue & white quilt. The bowl is one of 5 hubby brought home from his mom's house. They used to use them as cereal bowls.

I love this strawberry pinkeep. It fits in perfectly with the larger strawberry pinkeep I made this year.

This little bag was too cute to pass up. One side has an old quilt piece...

And the other side is stitched with the date 1860. I didn't even notice the stitched side until I unwrapped it at home. LOL I liked the quilted side.

I also bought a stretcher board & a little metal grater, but forgot to take a picture. Oops!

Thank you for all your kind comments. I love to read them all. I'm off to read & respond to yesterdays comments. Have a good night!!

Antique Mall Goodies Sneaky Peek

Well I promised to show you my antique mall goodies, so here's a little sneak peek of what I bought. I wasted a little too much time today, now I have a bunch of things to do before heading off to bed. So...I've just chosen a couple of goodies to show you. First up is a wonderful feed sack pillow. Not sure where I will put it yet, but I loved it & it had to go home with me.

And when I spied this little quilt covered whisk broom, I had to bring it home too. I think at one time it was a bigger whisk broom & was cut down.

More to come soon!!

Have a good night~Becky

Today we honor the Flag & all it stands for. Display it proudly!!

I'll be back soon with an update on my antiquing treasures. I know I promised pictures a few days ago, but it's been a little hectic here.

I'm off to enjoy this beautiful weather while it lasts.

Goodies in the Mail & Giveaway at Firecracker Kid Primitives

Happy Friday!!! Yippee!! The weekend is here & it's time to celebrate!! Well, not for me, I have to work tomorrow :(

On to better news. Have any of you not heard of The Firecracker Kid?? Carol's her name, & woodcrafts are her game (actually it's her & her hubby's business). She's having a surprise giveaway. Run (at least click as fast as you can) over & get yourself signed up http://firecrackerkid.blogspot.com/ . You'll find all the details on her blog. She sells her wonderful goodies on etsy. So while you're over signing up for a chance at something special, check out her etsy site. If you're like me, you'll want one of everything.

And speaking of goodies, I received some in the mail today. I took part in a Summertime Swap hosted by Misi of 1890 Gable House Musings. It was a secret swap with no partners. Misi emailed us our secret intended & Kat from http://primitiveechoes.blogspot.com/ got me. Look at all this colorful paper. Ohhh!!

She sent me this pinwheel that I promptly added to my porch flowers.

And look at the rest of my goodies. A birdhouse shelf, a nice big prim candle in a wonderfully prim bag, & a soldier's journal with love letter. They really look better in person. I had a really hard time getting a decent picture. Thank you Kat. I will enjoy my summertime swap goodies.

My swap intended was Amy at http://bumblebeelanecottage.blogspot.com/ . She has a wonderful blog & if you would like, you can check out what I sent her.

After work yesterday, I went to Madison with my mom to drop off some paperwork for their business. We stopped at our favorited quilt shop & checked out a new (to us) antique mall in Pardeeville. OMG!! I was in heaven for about 30 minutes. You see, we got there only 30 minutes before closing time, so we had to browse super fast. I WILL be going back. It was fabulous. I'll show you what I bought tomorrow.

I need to do some catching up on some blogs before bedtime (which will be real soon).

Enjoy your weekend!!

Babies!!

Good afternoon!!

Hope you're all enjoying your day so far. I've finished reading a book & have caught up on reading my favorite blogs~so now I'm off to try to get some things done. It's going to be in the 90's today so it's a good day to stay in and craft.

Thought before I go, I would show a couple of pics of Mamma morning dove & her babies. It's amazing how fast they grow. They are about 5 days old in these pictures.

Have a wonderful day & stay cool!!

Today's Projects

Hello friends!!

Today was a beautiful day~the sun was shining & the temperature was in the 70's. I had the day off, so I worked on some projects. I finally found a little ambition. My first finish is this wool journal. It's perfect for a little hammock time~something to jot down your thoughts, sketches, or anything else you may be dreaming about.

And since I had my wool out, I finally finished this lampshade for my son. I have hopes that he will become an Eagle scout like his older brother. I found 2 eagle lamps at an antique shop a few years ago & made a shade for Cody when he completed his Eagle project. Hopefully Stephen will follow in his footsteps & earn his Eagle scout badge also. If he does, I will be ready.

Have a good evening. I have to work tomorrow, so it's off to bed soon for me. 2:30 a.m. comes really fast, so I need to go to bed early. I need my beauty sleep. LOL
