Busy, Busy, Busy

Oh lookie~it's gone!!! So anyway~Tim & I have been helping our youngest son gear up for his Eagle Scout project. He needed a little push to get the ball rolling. Here he is with his project proposal. He'll be doing a lot of painting for our local fire department. He will also be doing some landscaping around the building & designing a plaque for the fire departments 150th anniversary. Good news is the project was approved. Yippee!! He's on his way!!

Next up~lots of fundraising. Fundraiser #1 came up super fast. The fire department was having an open house this past weekend for Fire Prevention Week, so Stephen asked to host a bake sale. They said yes, so the baking began. Friday (my day off) was spent baking. Stephen did a lot of the packaging & pricing, but it was up to Mom to do the baking. Another friend baked too & Grandma donated some baked goodies, jelly, & salsa to the cause. This is just some of the loot.
Here he is the day of the sale. All priced and ready to go. Waiting for his customers. It didn't take long. It ran from 10-2 and was a great start to kick off his fundraising.
And this last pic is for Marie aka Olde Lady Morgan. She's already seen it on Facebook, but I thought I'd tease her a little again. You see, we did a swap & teased a bunch. My package arrived on Saturday. Hers is sitting in my truck waiting to be mailed. No mail today, but it will go out first thing tomorrow morning. I'm sad to say, it will probably sit at her house for a bit before she gets to open it. She'll be on shopping trip with a group of ladies & living it up.

Have a great day!! I'm going to try to play catch up in blogland for a bit before I have to go to work.

Tuesday Display Chain~A New Appreciation

It's Tuesday and a good day to jump into the Display Chain hosted by Misi over at 1890 Gable House Musings. This weeks theme is A New Appreciation. It all started on a shopping trip with Olde Lady Morgan. Graters she said. You could put them anywhere she said. They're only eight bucks she said. Little did she know what she was starting. I now see graters everywhere & have to drag them home with me.

It all started with these 4 little graters...

And then I added another...

And one more...

'

And another....(actually I've had this one for a while.)

I have a few more, but they are stuffed in a cabinet for now & there's no way I'm going to show you the inside of that cabinet..Hehe...Hubby calls it hoarding. I call it fun.

And this last pic is for Marie...We're doing a swap. And a swap is more fun when you can torture tease the person you are swapping with. Wonder what this could turn into??? What do ya think OLM?? Any guesses??

Make sure to click on the link above to visit the other talented ladies that are participating in this weeks chain. Thanks Misi for bringing the chain back for a limited run.

Have a great night!! I'm off to visit the others in the chain this week.

Giveaway Goodie from The Rusty Thimble

Good Morning to you all!! I finally have a few minutes to blog. I've been so busy lately. I pop in for a few minutes here & there to see what's new, but that's about it.

I want to show you my wonderful pillow tuck I won from Brenda at The Rusty Thimble. Oh my... I was going to say this came a couple of weeks ago, but when I looked back, it's been a month since I won this wonderful goodie. I would like to tell you about Brenda. She is a very talented creator of wonderful goods. She is always having some kind of wonderful giveaway. She blogs, has an etsy shop, does facebook, and still has time to come up with new & fabulous creations. If you haven't visited her yet, you must do it now. You can ask her how she does it all. Oh...and don't let me forget....she has a couple of cutie pups that love attention. Thank you Brenda!! I only wish I could do half as much as you.

Here is my tuck in it's current home.

I'll be back soon to show a couple of pics of the craft show I did last week at a wonderful historic farm.

Have a wonderful day~Becky

Meeting a Blogging Friend

Just over 2 weeks ago, I made a trip to Oshkosh to meet a blogging friend. Oshkosh is about 45 minutes from my home. I met up there with Marie aka Olde Lady Morgan. She made the 3 1/2 hour trip up to spend some time with her hubby who was working at the EAA Air Show & to do some shopping. I was lucky enough to be her guide for the day. We started out at a prim shop in Ripon called Simpler Times. She had already been there a few days before & found some fabulous goodies. I found some things I would have loved to have, but I'm at the point that if I can't figure out where it will go in my house, it has to stay at the store. So~I behaved & didn't buy anything.

Marie is such a generous lady. She brought me some wonderful gifties....Don't you just love my pumpkin man??
She also gifted me with one of her wonderful hand stitched pumpkins. Love his expression!! She also included one of her fabulous pumpkin flatties. I avoided bringing them into the house (they were hanging out in the back of my truck) because I knew I would want to decorate for Fall. And...it's WAY too earlyfor that.
Well last night, they came in for their photo shoot. I have so many things I want to blog about. I figured I better get to it.

Marie & I hit up a couple of antique shops too & went to Primitive Gatherings (wonderful quilt shop) before having to call it a day. Those goodies will show up in another post.

It was a great day. I only wish I had taken a few more pictures.

I'm sure most of you are familiar with Marie & her blog, but if you aren't....click on the link with her name above to visit her. She sells her wonderfully prim goodies & I know you're lovin my goodies from her.

I also wanted to let you know that I love to hear from you. I know I'm not always the best at responding to your comments, but know that I appreciate each & every one.

Off to try to finish up some things before work tonight...so have a good night.

Hugs to you all~Becky

Stitchin, Punchin, and Hookin

Good afternoon friends. I've been pretty busy these last two days. I had 2 days off in a row and that doesn't happen very often. The heat has kept me indoors and I decided it's time to get some things done. I've been working on some swap goodies and some projects for myself. Here's a sneak peek of a couple of the things I've been working on.

The makings for a little quilt....

 A punch needle project....

A hooked goodie or two or maybe even three....I haven't picked up my hook in years. Decided to start with a small project...

Tomorrow I go back to work :(  I like the paycheck, but it really cuts into my creating time.

Enjoy your weekend~Becky
