Baking Day

Last night was inventory night at my job, so I spent the day yesterday baking cookies for all my coworkers. I figured we would need a little chocolate to make it through the long night. Inventory started at 5 p.m. and we were finished by 2:20 a.m. It was a long night. The cookies were a much needed chocolate fix!!

Here is the recipe if any of you would like to try making a batch.

Grandma's Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup shortening

1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup water

2 1/2 cups flour

2 cups chocolate chips

Cream shortening & sugar. Beat in the eggs. Add vanilla, salt, baking soda, water & mix in. Mix in flour. Stir in chocolate chips. Bake at 325 for 12-14 minutes. Transfer to cooling rack. Enjoy!!

Spending the day relaxing & catching up on blogs.

Have a wonderful day~Becky

Morning Becky!
Loving those cookies...can almost smell them. I have come to the conclusion over the years that THIS IS THE 'ONLY' COOKIE out there....it's just the best and if I make cookies these are what I make...there's no deciding in my head...it's just a natural.
Thanks for this recipe...I will try this one.
Blessings,
Karen
