My Goodies from Brenda, Car Crash, & a Finish

Happy Thursday!! One more work day till the weekend!  Yeah! I have to work Sunday, but at least I'm off Saturday!!

I would like to Thank you all for the kinds words about my Grandfather. It meant a lot to me.

I would like to show off my winnings from Brenda at The Rusty Thimble. I was the winner of her giveaway & she sent me these wonderfully prim pears. I just love them!! This is just a temporary place for them. I have a bowl I think they will look great in. Brenda makes some really nice things, so hop on over to her blog & check her out. She is currently having another awesome giveaway.

We also had some excitement outside our home on Monday night. We live on a curve in the road & had a car flip over. The had a tire blow out & the car wouldn't turn. The car went straight & they drove up the ground wires on the electric pole by our house. The car went 1/2 way up the wires & flipped on it's roof.

It was a couple about my age & they (of course) were pretty shaken up. My pictures aren't too good, but this is the car on it's roof. Thank goodness they were both okay. This happened around 11 p.m. and it took until 2 a.m. before it was all cleaned up & hauled away. I was a little tired on Tuesday.

Our city electric truck had to come out to make sure the pole was okay & to help guide the car off the ground wires. We usually have a couple of cars each winter hit the guardrail by the curve, but never one that tried to climb the electric pole. The scary part of all this excitement was that on Tuesday night another car hit the guardrail & the police had to come out again. I told hubby I think it's time to move to the country. We've been waiting for the kiddos to finish high school. Only 3 years to go~although I've been checking the local real estate section for a while now.

I did have time to finish up a crow cross stitch this week. I mounted it to a bread board that I painted, then I added the prim candles. I love how this turned out. The cross stitch is a Primitive Betty's freebie.

Have a great day!! I'm off to blog hop to try to catch up on what I've missed in the last few days.

So glad there were no injuries in those crashes. It can't be easy to sleep after something like that outside your window! That is one very creative use of a breadboard -- I LOVE it!

This is another great finish. Keep up the wonderful stitchin'!

That would be scary with the accidents happening right outside your door. Thankfully no one was hurt!
