Strawberries

Happy Saturday!!

I spent some of yesterday & today taking care of these beauties. I got a voice mail yesterday while at work to stop by my parents house~my mom had something for me. She had gone to the berry farm & picked me a whole flat of strawberries~LOVE YOU MOM!! Don't they look yummy??

I cut a bunch of them up to freeze. I will use them for pies, jam, & smoothies throughout the year. Then I made this super yummy Strawberry Cream Pie.

And today I made some freezer jam. Hubby likes the freezer version better than the cooked version. He says it tastes fresher?? His opinion, but it is a lot easier to make.

While I was cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I whipped up 2 batches of rice krispie squares. One pan for my MIL & the other for my boys. They don't like the pie. Silly boys!!

I also did some laundry, some cleaning, some weeding, & even some sewing today. Can't show the sewing projects~they are gifties. I also met a friend at an artisan open house too today & there was an estate sale down the road. I'll show you my goodies another day.

It's amazing what I can get done when I stay off the computer. Okay~I was on today, but only for a little while.

Enjoy your evening!!

Hugs~Becky

Wow! You sure got a lot done. What is your secret? How do you get that much energy? The pie looks delicious, if I lived closer, I'd be over for some :)
Have a great day.

Becky,
You said it girl, I work outside awhile, check computer, clean house awhile, check computer.
It is getting to be addicting. I miss blogging with all you guys. I did get my craft room cleaned and the yard mowed. But after that I checked the computer. I love strawberries, the pie looks delish. I am trying for the first time to grow strawberries. My hubs says they are hard to grow. We'll see. At least if the kids don't like strawberry pie that leaves more for you, uh?
Have a nice day, I hear thunder off in the distance. Gonna storm here soon.

Wow Becky those strawberries are beautiful. What could I swap you for that Strawberry pie? My mouth is watering. I helped with a wedding yesterday and I had to dip two trays of strawberries into chocolate.
You know my son is 30 and he still likes for me to make rice krispy treats, I have to make them for him for Christmas.
have a great day!
Hugs,
Lecia

You make me feel like a slacker! I miss having a berry farm nearby. What a nice mom to pick those for you. The berries look so tasty and I know they taste so much better fresh from the vine, no matter how you prepare them (but I'll take the pie). ~Roberta
