Tuesday Display Chain~Quilts

Hello and Happy Tuesday!!

It's time for the display chain again hosted by Misi of http://1890gablehousemusings.blogspot.com/. She hosts the display chain each week & allows us to share ideas & inspiration with each other. This week's theme is Quilts & boy do I have a lot.

WARNING~This is a picture laden post, so be prepared. You may want to grab a cup of coffee, tea, a soft drink, some snacks....He he...Just kidding about the snacks!!

I have been quilting for about 15 years & it's an addiction!! I keep on buying more fabric. I have enough to last my lifetime & I just keep on buying.

Anyway, I have made most of these quilts (antique ones excluded of course). I will let you browse at your leisure without too many comments. Feel free to enlarge the pics for a better view but please excuse the dust.

Here goes....First up~chair with antique quilt seat. The lovely dolly (Becky) is from a swap I did with Marie aka Olde Lady Morgan. Isn't she wonderful??

This one is called Pineapple Pie. It hangs in my dining room.

This quilt is small~about 15" square & took FOREVER to make.

Head over to Misi's blog today to post your "Quilts". You will have fun & find lots of inspiration. You'll also have a chance to win this little quilt. It is made from reproduction Civil War fabrics. I wasn't sure I wanted to part with it, but know it will go to a good home. All of the ladies who have participated in the chain have wonderful blogs & it is a pleasure to visit them each week . I know we all love a package from Misi, but I thought she might like a little break this week.

Have a wonderful night all!! Hope I didn't over do it. I did warn you though!!

Hugs~Becky

P.S. I still have lots more quilts, but I want a chance to visit the "chain" ladies too, so I'm stopping here.

We Wanna Be Calendar Girls!!

Happy Sunday Friends!!

I want you to meet Eema & Cher. They want to be calendar girls. Aren't they beauties??

These girlies have been adopted by their wonderful Mom Dolly. They were rescued by Ohio Pug Rescue & my friend Lauren from Rugs & Pugs was foster Mom to Eema until she went to live with Dolly.

Eema has a malignant tumor & it would make Dolly extremely happy to see her girls make the calendar.

Please get out the vote for these beauty queens. This is a fund raiser for Ohio Pug Rescue & each vote costs $1(that's less than a cup of coffee or for me a bag of M&M's).

Lauren is also giving away a couple of hooked rugs to 2 lucky voters. Head over to her blog for the details & the link for Ohio Pug Rescue. You can find all the info here http://rugsandpugs.blogspot.com/2011/06/different-kind-of-giveaway.html

HURRY VOTING ENDS JULY 1ST!!

Thank you so much for helping out a worthy cause & a fellow blogger!!

Blessings~Becky

Strawberries

Happy Saturday!!

I spent some of yesterday & today taking care of these beauties. I got a voice mail yesterday while at work to stop by my parents house~my mom had something for me. She had gone to the berry farm & picked me a whole flat of strawberries~LOVE YOU MOM!! Don't they look yummy??

I cut a bunch of them up to freeze. I will use them for pies, jam, & smoothies throughout the year. Then I made this super yummy Strawberry Cream Pie.

And today I made some freezer jam. Hubby likes the freezer version better than the cooked version. He says it tastes fresher?? His opinion, but it is a lot easier to make.

While I was cooking up a storm in the kitchen, I whipped up 2 batches of rice krispie squares. One pan for my MIL & the other for my boys. They don't like the pie. Silly boys!!

I also did some laundry, some cleaning, some weeding, & even some sewing today. Can't show the sewing projects~they are gifties. I also met a friend at an artisan open house too today & there was an estate sale down the road. I'll show you my goodies another day.

It's amazing what I can get done when I stay off the computer. Okay~I was on today, but only for a little while.

Enjoy your evening!!

Hugs~Becky

A Finish....Finally

Lately I seem to have a problem motivating myself to do any kind of project. So, this past weekend, I sat down at my sewing machine & sat there until I finished this little wall hanging. I loved the pattern as soon as I saw it in the new Primitive Quilts & Projects magazine. It is by one of my favorite designers~Cheri Payne. The quilt is fabric & I used wool for the crow & basket of flowers. I love it!! Sorry for the picture quality. It's dark & dreary here today & I'm not the best picture taker to begin with. This first picture makes it look washed out.

And this pic is a little dark. This picture is closer to it's true color.

I have 2 projects in the works for 2 special ladies. I've been putting these projects off for a couple weeks now. They will not take too long once I start on them, I just seem to not ever start them. I think tomorrow will be the day (if I can just stay off this computer).

Have a good night everyone!!

Hugs~Becky
