Christmas Decorating Preview

I've finally started to decorate for Christmas~so here is a preview of the first room I've finished. This is my half bath on the main level. It is also the smallest room in the house, therefore the easiest to finish. This first pic is a little tree in an old cabinet drawer sitting on my grungy red chair. Notice my little angel on the lower left of the tree~it's the first item from my swap partner Beth that found it's home.A nice little wooden sampler pic I bought years ago and still love...
One of the first samplers I made and framed, along with a little peg shelf also made by me. Don't you just love the little mouse in the basket with his stocking. I was going to sell him after I made him, but decided I loved him too much to part with him.
My little Christmas tree in an old tobacco can. I loved making the little stockings. Quilt is also my creation.
I bought this bowl rack from ebay a couple of years ago and it's one of my favorite things. It came with the two small bowls on top & the black bowl on the bottom shelf. It holds just  a few of my many bowls. I have a bowl fixation! LOL!!
This shelf sits above my sink. I bought it quite a few years ago at a flea market for $1. Hubby just shook his head when I came in the house with it. It's got a nice crusty finish~just what I like!! The little crock is from the Rowe pottery seconds sale. I don't know where Powellville is, but it only cost $1. The snowman came from a craft show & is made from paper mache. I'm told the little brown jug was an old canning jar~I don't know if this is true, but it had to come home with me. I can see it filled with all kinds of goodies for each season/holiday.

Hope you enjoyed the tour~more to come in the next few days.
Have a great day~Becky

Old Fashioned Christmas Swap Goodies

Good Morning~Just Lookie what showed up on my porch this morning!! My package from Char's Pickled Pepper Patch Old Fashioned Christmas Swap!! My partner for this swap was Beth from http://www.oldetymemarketplace.blogspot.com/ .
Just lookie at how festive the outside of this package is. A nice Christmas bow and Beth stamped the package with some holiday rubber stamps. You can barely see the snowman on the bottom right side, but he's there. I went out to take the dog to do her business & this beauty was on the porch. I wanted to turn around right then & there and open it, but knew I would have a mess to clean off the floor if the poor doggy didn't get to go out. Needless to say, I was naughty & rushed her. Poor little Zoey doggy, but Mommy had a present!! Yippee!!This is what I found when I opened up my package. Isn't it beautiful? The hand stitched tag will be going on my Christmas tree. It will be a memory of my very first swap. The card that was in my package. The preview after the paper came off the top.
The first thing I unwrapped. A wonderful wooden bowl~my wooden item.Next came these perfectly prim pears made by Beth. They are to go inside the wooden bowl along with some Christmas greens she sent along. These were my three ornies/bowl fillers.

We were to send a wild card item to our partners. Beth didn't just send one thing, she sent multiple items. These perfectly prim Snowman & Santa dollies are 2 of the wild cards Beth sent me. Isn't she great?

This angel ornie was another wild card item. Don't ya just luv the stitching!
The green hand towel is my textile item and the snowball candle is the smell good item. The pic of the candle didn't come out too good. It's at the top of the towel. The little candle & holder and the star ornie (it sparkles & says faith) were also wild card goodies.
And last, but not least is the little pail filled with berries, greens, and a nice grungy battery taper candle is my lighted item. This was also made by Beth. Thank you so much Beth for these wonderful goodies. I love them all.

I would also like to thank Char from The Pickled Pepper Patch http://charsethman.blogspot.com/ for hosting this wonderful swap. This was my very first swap & it was wonderful. I'm looking forward to swapping again in the future.

Check back~I will be posting where all these goodies end up in my home. Have a great day~Becky

Getting Ready for Decorating

Good Morning~

I spent this past long week-end hanging out with my family. We had a wonderful time just doing nothing. It's been so hectic lately, that we decided to just hang out. It was wonderful.

I'm off to work for the next few days, but am excited to finally be able to put out my Christmas goodies. This Santa wreath is just a sneak peak (he's made from an Olde Country Cupboard pattern). Don't ya just love him!! He's hanging on my Christmas present from my loving hubby. It's an old wardrobe cabinet & I love it!! I'll post more pics later.

Off to work.
Blessings~Becky

A Day to be Thankful...

Good Morning All~
I know I've been gone for quite a while. Just wanted to let you all know that I am still here. It's been an extremely busy couple of weeks. I had 3 craft shows back to back. I hope to be able to get back to blogging in the next few days. I'm looking forward to reading all the blogs I've been following. I really miss it.

Taking time today to spend time with my family. I am thankful that we are all together and healthy and are lucky enough to have both sets of parents still with us.

Enjoy your day
Blessings~Becky

Take Some Time ...

Today is the day we honor all veterans. Please take a few minutes from your busy day to think about what they have done for us & our country. This picture represents just a few of the flags that are put up outside our local VFW hall. There are over 30 flags that line the road & stand proud in front of the VFW hall. It is a beautiful sight to see. As a scouting family, we help to put them up & take them down. It is an awesome sight to see boys ranging from 10-18 working along side our veterans.

Please say a prayer today for all our men & women who are away from their families.

Christmas Tree in an Old Tin

It is a beautiful day here in Southeastern Wisconsin~the sun is shining & the temps are in the mid 50's. Not bad for November & a lot better than the rain we have been having on & off for the past 3 weeks.

I thought I would show you one of the things I have been working on for my upcoming show. Sandy over at the Olde Country Cupboard showed her trees in old coffee cans awhile ago on her blog. I did something similar a few years ago & sold all the ones I made then~so I decided to do some more with a new twist. I made stocking ornies that will be sold with the trees. As you can see from the picture, I have been neglecting my housework (dust, dust, everywhere). I'll have to live with it for a couple more weeks as I am frantically trying to complete a bunch of unfinished projects before November 14th. Good thing that picture was taken in my bedroom & not my family room. Hubby doesn't notice~he's busy hunting at this time of the year.

Off to hang out some sheets & back to crafting!! Enjoy the day!!  Hugs~Becky

Our new ponds

Good Morning Everyone.
Thought I would share with you our wonderful little family ponds. These ponds have been two years in the making and I am glad to say that they are finally done~kind of. We still need to fill in some of the gaps between the stones with bark chips. This started out when my younger son, then 12, needed a family project for his Family Life merit badge in Boy Scouts. You wouldn't think something so small would take so long, but it did!! We just kept putting off finishing it.I just love it!! Now I will have to wait until Spring to enjoy it as Tim has removed the pump so it doesn't freeze.

Stephen (youngest) wants to add fish next year. I like the idea, but you all know who will be taking care of those fish~me. I have the next two days off & a craft show in less than 2 weeks, so I better try to get something done today. Enjoy your day!!

Hugs~Becky
