Do you like my bonnet?

This is the bonnet that my friend Lecia made for me for a swap we did a while ago. Lecia had just started crafting & I was lucky enough to get one of her first creations. It is so wonderfully prim. What do you think? Would you like to own one for yourself? Then....

What are you up to today?

Today was my day off from work. I had a bunch of errands to run, cleaning to do, & the dreaded laundry. I also decided it would be a nice night to have a decent dinner. So, we're having ham, mashed potatoes & gravy, and sweet corn. Yummy!!

I am working on some swap goodies (I can't show you those cuz certain ladies may get a sneak peak.) We wouldn't want that now!!

I'm also working on this sampler for my mom for her birthday. It was supposed to be a Christmas gift, but it didn't get finished. I have until April to get it done~I think I can get it finished by then.

Have a wonderful evening~Becky

Valentine Display Chain

Today I am taking part in Misi's display chain over at 1890 Gable House Musings. Each week a new theme is announced & everyone who wants to participate joins in. This is my first time posting pics, but I have followed along for a while. It's a wonderful place to get awesome decorating ideas. This week's theme is Valentines. First up is a little doll bed I have filled with some heart pillows & a couple of wooden bowls. It sits on a basket quilted runner that I made last year.

This is my tree that I like to decorate for each season. It has red & white basket ornies, prim hand made hearts made from an antique quilt, & love letter ornies.

A closer shot of my tree.

A wooden bowl of prim hand made hearts sit on top of another of my quilts.

Little mouse is looking for love.

Simple wool felt heart pocket filled with pip berries & a prim candle. This hangs in my powder room.

This little display greets my friends when they come to visit. It sits on a little cabinet right across from my front door. This sits on another of my little red & white quilts.

Hope you all enjoyed the displays. To check out what others have done, check out Misi's blog. Thanks Misi for hosting & allowing us to share our ideas.

My computer came back today & seems to be working ok. Yippee!! I'm back~no more waiting & begging for a few minutes of computer time. Thank you all for visiting & for your wonderful comments.

I'm off to see what others have done for Valentines decorating.

A Wonderful Win

Happy Monday Everyone. I have a few minutes before heading off to work, so I thought I would show you all the wonderful blog giveaway I won. Stacy from Buttermilk Basin hosted a fantastic 12 Days of Christmas party. She & 11 other wonderful designers each shared a free pattern & cookie recipe. If you haven't heard of this, hop over to Stacy's blog & check it out. The patterns & recipes are still available. Anyway~Stacy was giving away a bunch of kits for her freebie pattern & I was a lucky winner. Yippee!! This is her finished sample.

And here is what she sent me. She was a little late in sending out her kits (I didn't mind at all~I was just happy to have won!!) so she included a couple of extra patterns. Isn't she great?? I think so!!

Have a terrific week everyone!! I've got a couple extra minutes so I'm gonna check out some blog updates.

See ya~Becky

It's Finally Finished

What do you think? I painted it black, then chocolate brown. Sanded it down & slapped on some dark walnut stain. I know there's a glare, but I just couldn't get a good picture. It needs some goodies around it now.

Gotta go!! Son is impatiently waiting for his computer back & I still need to check my email. Have a wonderful evening.

Working on Mixer Cover & Antique Mall Goodies

Happy Monday. Today is a good day as it is a day off from work. I'm starting to take down my Christmas decorations & am trying to finish painting my mixer cover. I started by basecoating it black.

I just added a coat of chocolate brown paint & am waiting for it to dry. What do you think so far?

When it drys, it will get sanded & I'll finish it off with a dark walnut stain. I'll make sure to show you the finished product when it's done.
If you all remember, my hubby & I went to the antique mall on Saturday. I didn't find much~just this little seed bag.

I also found this little green painted box. I'm not sure where it will end up yet, but i just love old boxes.

Hubby found a nutcracker to add to his evergrowing collection & some kind of fishing gadget. We had a good time junking together.

I'm off to check out some blogs. My computer was shipped off again. Hopefully they will fix it this time. It's sad to say, but I think I will have to start shopping for a new laptop. I am so disappointed with my Dell. It is just 1 year old & this is the second time I had to ship it off to be fixed. I had to argue with them for over an hour to get them to agree to fix it. It was out of warranty by 1 week (even though the problem was the same thing the supposedly fixed a little over a month ago). Sorry~had to vent!! Thanks for listening(er reading)!!
Now on a better note~I'll be visiting some of your blogs soon cuz the boy is working till 10 tonight!! Yippee~I can hog is computer!!

Have a wonderful Monday evening~Becky
