Working on Craft Projects...

Good Afternoon All~

I've been trying to make the most of being indoors because of the heat wave here. I finished up this dolly last night. She is my take on a Threadbare Primitives Pattern. This gal is going to my mom's for a very late Mother's Day gift. I bought a wonderful little black doll for her, but couldn't part with her when she came in the mail.

 Am I terrible or what?

Today I'm trying to think cool, so I've been working on these little snowman pictures. These guys are my own design. The strap in the picture is from my camera (the glass must have reflected it when I took the picture). I bought a bunch of picture frames a couple of years ago & they work perfectly for these guys. I also use this pattern to make coin purses for my shows. They are a huge hit. I put up a sign that reads ~Coin purses, make up cases, gift card holders, etc. & they fly out of my booth. 

 

I don't have to work for the next two days, so I'll be working on some more goodies. I went through my patterns today & came to the conclusion that besides being a fabric hoarder, I'm also a pattern hoarder. Oh well, we all have our weaknesses. LOL

Busy..Busy..Busy..

Good Morning All~

I finally decided to get it in gear and do something. We're in the middle of a heat (and humid...Yuck) wave here & I'm staying in. I am not a fan of heat at all (although I have to say it's better than the never ending rain some of you are having). I was busy yesterday making some dollies and painting lots of goodies. This little santa is made from a Chestnut Junction pattern. I know I will  be making more of him.

I also did a lot of painting & staining. I'm not sure yet if I will sell some of these goodies or if I'll keep them all.

I'm working tonight so I need to get moving on some of the things I started this weekend, but did not finish. I will have more to share later this week.

Hot Sunday

We're having a heat wave here in Wisconsin. Our thermometer reads 90 degrees in the shade~a little too warm for me. I will be staying indoors today cleaning out a closet & painting up some wooden wares. Before I go, I would like to share some garden pictures. First up is the last of my lilacs. The others are long past blooming, but this little guy is shaded by an apple tree, so it was late in blooming.

Next up is my snowball bush in full bloom. Boy did this guy ever get big. I guess I better start reading the sizing on the plants when I purchase them. This guy started out a couple of years ago as a little bush. I didn't realize how big it would get. I do love it though.

Punch needle finish & new cabinet

Happy Saturday.

 I finally found some ambition and finished this punch needle project I started last year. I love how it turned out. I just have to figure out what I want to put it on. This sweet bunny is a Country Stitches pattern. It's much prettier than it appears in the picture.

 

Here is my new cabinet in it's new home. I really love this cabinet (and to think I almost passed on it because I wasn't sure where it would go in my home). I topped it with a piece from an antique quilt. I also added my basket that I just redid. In the basket, I added another quilt piece & some sweet annie. I also added a small wooden bowl with some cross stitched (my new  passion) bowl fillers & my little 10 cent rummage sale pottery piece.

Come Hike with Me

TGIF everyone!!

Tim & I have been hiking at our local state park the last couple of days. The weather has been wonderful & we both have decided that it is time to lose some weight. Pike Lake is a gorgeous place to get some much needed exercise. There are about 26 miles of hiking trails. There is also an observation tower, beach for swimming, & a campground. Here is one of the trail heads. Let's hike shall we...

The paths are nice & wide.

There are many small ponds along the trails.

Plenty of wild flowers along the path.

We've been hiking for about 30 minutes. Time to rest. Would you like to swing with me?

While we swing, we can enjoy this small pond. Do you hear the frogs talking to each other?

If you are quiet as you hike, you just might catch a glimpse of the local wildlife. Tonight it was a deer feeding. Last night, we came across 2 wild turkeys.

Antique Quilt Squares for Sale

Good Afternoon Everyone.

 I am selling some antique quilt pieces from my collection. Each piece is approximately 16" square. They are the same pattern. All are red, white, and blue. These pieces are all cut from an antique quilt. They are not in perfect condition~they all have some wear. The fabric is worn through in spots. They are perfect for your prim displays. Edges are not finished. The colors are darker than in the picture. Very pretty. They would be nice as table runners, tucked in baskets, or hanging from a prim peg shelf.

I have them in their original condition or they can be tea stained.

Flea Market Treasures and a Redo

Happy Wednesday!

I'm finally getting around to showing my goodies from my travels this weekend. I went rummaging with my friend Linda for a little while on Saturday. Sunday was spent at the antique & flea market in Elkhorn. I got this new cubbie on Sunday & I just love it. Sorry the pic is a little cruddy. I should have taken pics at night when the sun wasn't pouring in the window. I will share more  pics later when I have it all decorated & in it's home.

I have always liked the look of old mashers & decided it was time to start a collection on them. I bought 3 to start. I could have gone crazy because they were everywhere, but decided 3 was a good start. I also bought a small oil can ($2~for a punch needle project) and an old tin cup for $1. The cup will probably become a mini planter. I also bought a wood bowl for $2, but forgot to take a picture of it.

These 3 smalls came from my rummaging. The candle holder was $1, little vase 10 cents, & the lantern was $1.

More rummage items. The lady was packing up & told us to take what we wanted. She was taking it all to the thrift store & said take it all if we wanted. I got this wonderful little lamp & 2 picture frames that will probably house a cross stitch project or little wool project. Free!! I love free stuff!!

This basket come from the local thrift shop. I loved the size and shape of it, but wasn't so happy with the finish. So after a base coat of antique gold & a top coat of brown paint & of course some stain slapped on top of it all~

I ended up with the finished basket. I just love how it turned out!!

Well, I'm off to visit some blogs I love & then I need to do something. I have the day off & want to get something accomplished. I've been spending a little too much time on the computer lately. LOL
