New cross stitch finish

Good evening all~

It was a beautiful day today. It was a great day to be outside in the flower beds pulling weeds.

Besides gardening, I did manage to finish up a gathering for my prairie doll.

I started with a free cross stitch chart from Betty of Primitive Bettys. I stitched on 18 count aida with DMC floss.

I mounted the finished stitchery to a little book that I covered with fabric.

I then placed the book on an old childs slate, added some preserved sweet annie, and tied everything together with a piece of jute.

The finished gathering is going in the arms of the prim prairie doll made for me for my birthday by my mom. I just love this little gathering. I did see the idea for the gathering on someone's blog or picturetrail site, but I cannot remember whose idea this was. If it was your idea or if you know where this idea came from, please let me know. I would love to give credit to this very creative person.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday. I'm working today after a few wonderful days off :(
